I had no experience with any bike racks and was uncertain what to expect. I had read some reviews and based my decision on the reviews and the importance of quality, easy of use and a non-scratching product. The Raceway 3 was so simple to attach, set up, use and it met every need I had. There was no learning curve and the rack performed flawlessly with two bikes on our 2004 C Class Mercedes. I have not tried three bikes but it seems it would be a tight fit. Although I couldn't say for sure. Hauling two bikes is very comfortable in this rack and was basically undetected. I could only hear a very slight whine to know that there was something different with the vehicle ride. The Raceway has great features with the locking devises but it attaches and detaches so easily it just makes it a simple choice to break it down and pop it in the trunk while out on your ride. If your thinking of getting the two bike rack, get the three bike rack and make life simple. Well worth the price and peace of mind. Just remember to wax the cars' surface and secure the front wheels from twisting. Happy biking!

I returned the Yakima Super Joe 2 Trunk Rack for this one (I posted a review for that rack). I really didn't want to spend this much on a rack but the Super Joe was a disappointment and I needed one that would fit my car. I used a coupon and saved $45. This rack was way better than the Super Joe! It's very easy to install, it's safe on the interstate, It doesn't scratch your car. This rack is hands down a way better rack than the Super Joe. The very helpful sales peps helped me pick this out and install it. Awesome rack!

We bought this bike rack when we bought a new car and were looking for something that was easy, sturdy and could lock. This rack was great! We just drove to Washington, DC from CT and back again and everything worked great. The rack was easy to install, the bikes didn't sway and I wasn't concerned while driving as I was with my Yakima rack on the previous car. Because it is sturdy, it is a bit heavier than other racks, but is worth the weight difference. We did notice some slight indentations on lower bumper when we got home, but we suspect it was due to us over tightening and not the rack itself so we will do something different next time. If you want no worries while traveling, this is the rack for you; worth the investment.

Great rack... used it for long trips, mountain bikes, road bikes... it's built solid and doesn't move.
The best part is the piece of mind of the locks.. don't need to take it on and off, and give you a fighting chance when you have to take a leak at a rest stop... i wouldn't leave a nice bike on it overnight in NYC, but for most trips it's perfect.

This is a very nice bike rack. It's well made and sturdy. It adjusts well and I feel confident in it while driving on regular roads and the highway with an expensive road bike on it.
However, it doesn't really fit my full suspension mountain bike. I am still figuring out if it is possible, but it doesn't look promising, and so, I will need to get a different soultion for my mtn bike. To avoid confusion, it WILL fit a hard-tail mountain bike just fine. I would strongly recommend this for road bikes and hard tail bikes.

My old bike rack was very flimsy and since I just bought a new car, I figured a new bike rack was in order.
This bike rack is hell for strong, but is also quite heavy. A small person might have trouble installing it and taking it off the car. Racks can't be designed for every bike frame geometry and my mountain bike rests on the rear shock to fit. But no harm done. It's a well designed rack.
It does almost totally block the view out the rear window of my Toyota Camry and I do have to use the side mirrors to determine if someone is behind me. The rack does have a big frame, but that's necessary to have all the features on the rack.
The anti sway fittings don't work on every bike due to frame geometry but usually you can rig up something to keep the bikes from swaying.
What I like best is the rubber coated steel cables that hold the rack to the car. They don't flap and the rack can be locked to the car for some security. Also there is a cable to lock the bike to the rack. A well thought out design.

This rack is perfect. It seems that Thule really figured everything out when building it. I have put three road bikes on it without any issues. My only recommendations are getting some bungee chords to avoid the front of the bikes swaying and a thick cable lock if you plan to leave a bike on it in a heavily-trafficked area.

I was really excited for this product, but after struggling with it for an hour, have become a bit disappointed.
It won't fit my 2007 Corolla S with factory spoiler. Even with the arch, it can't *quite* clear the spoiler, and would put enough pressure on it to cause damage. A shame, because other than that it was easy to fit.
Also, this is meant for traditional road bike frames. Fitting "women's" and kids bikes is possible, but you will have to improvise, and it might not be secure.

I WANTED A RACK THAT WASN'T GOING TO DAMAGE MY NEW CAR. THIS RACK IS EXACTLY THAT, IT FITS PERFECTLY WITH NO STRAPS WHIPPING AROUND AND ATTACHES SNUGLY TO THE VEHICLE SO IT DOESN'T MOVE BACK AND FORTH AND SCRATCH THE PAINT. ALL MY BIKES ARE EASY ON AND EASY OFF, THE LOCK ON IT IS GOOD FOR QUICK STOPS AT THE STORE OR TO GET GAS. I AM 100% SATISFIED WITH THIS PRODUCT AND WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.
