Comments about Thule Raceway 2 Bike Rack:
I have been looking for a new trunk mount rack for my car for about a year. I was considering the Saris Bones R3 rack but I thought it was too expensive. I found this rack on REI's web site yesterday. I bought this rack and installed the rack on my car today. The installation was very easy. I'm sure the second time I install this rack, it will take much less time now that I know the settings for my car. Removal of the rack was also easy and quick.
The security features for this rack are a nice concept. I had trouble removing the key after locking the straps in place. I had to wiggle the unit in order to remove the key. Also, I don't think the cable for securing the bike to the rack is all that great. It appears you could jimmy the cable out of the rack with a screwdriver. I didn't by the rack because of the security cable but I found it to be a nice added feature. Like most locks, I feel this locking device will keep the honest people honest.
I couldn't get the anti-sway cradle secured tight to my bike. I noticed I could wiggle my bike a small amount while secured to the anti-sway cradle. This isn't a big deal if you don't care about the finish of your paint on your bike. I am going to place some foam pipe tubing around my down tube in order to keep the anti-sway cradle from rubbing the paint off my down tube. Also, you still will need a bungee cord or some other device to keep the front wheel from moving around while driving.
Thus far I am very pleased with the purchase of this bike rack. I think it is a much better value than the Saris Bones R3. And after using the additional 20% discount and my REI dividend, the deal couldn't be beat.

Comments about Thule Raceway 2 Bike Rack:
Installed on my 2011 Camry and it fits perfectly with their recommended settings.
Cables and rubber pads work just as described. I was afraid that this system was going to scratch up my paint, but it looks good so far.
This is a great bike rack and has the locks which made me feel better about buying it. Must buy!

Comments about Thule Raceway 2 Bike Rack:
I wanted a high quality rack for our 2 26" Mountain Bikes. Having looked at the others, this one is no doubt the best built and most thought out. Installs crazy fast, and folds down for easy storage. No tools required and no straps to deal with. 2011 Honda Civic Coupe.

Comments about Thule Raceway 2 Bike Rack:
I really like the fact there isn't a bunch of straps flailing around. There are 4 very solid cables that you tighten and all excess gets coiled up inside the body of the rack. I have a saab 9-3 and it works perfectly. I keep it in the trunk and pop it out whenever I need it. Takes about 2 minutes to set up. very stable. it is heavy so if you are going to be taking it back and forth to your penthouse, that could be an issue.

Comments about Thule Raceway 2 Bike Rack:
The only problem I had is when I try to put two bikes on this rack. I have a 29er and the tires are to big to try getting two bikes on comfortably. We got them on but I was not happy with the way they where on. Other than this issue I really like this rack.
