The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Thule Traverse Foot Pack - Set of 4:
These were real easy to install and inspire confidence. I was a little skeptical because they are held on to the car with a clip in the door jam. I was worried they would scar the car. But after putting them on they were super stable, nice big footprint, and the rubber coating on the clip inspires confidence it won't mar your vehicle.
The problem is that the Thule instructions have you install them fairly far forward on the vehicle, Honda Pilot in my case. Only 10inches from the windshield. When you place a cargo box up there it sticks out over the windshield significantly and that's a real wind drag. I ended up switching to a Yakima rack because it was mounted farther back but I do feel that these mounted with much more confidence then the Yamkima towers.

Took a while to get the spacing on the bars adjusted correctly, the instructions could use some tweaking.

Comments about Thule Traverse Foot Pack - Set of 4:
I have used Thule products in the past and as usual, I'm not at all disappointed. Top notch quality, nothing is flimsy about this rack. Very well constructed and VERY easy to install. It has to be easy to install because the instructions are a complete joke! Really a non issue though because it doesn't take much more than common sense to put this thing on. It really almost just fits together like magic. It took me longer to get it out of the boxes than put it on my car.
First drive was without the fairing, ran out of time before my evening plans and it was crazy loud with the square load bars above 40MPH. Sounded like a medium sized tornado was happening on my roof. Got home that night and installed the fairing, next day... like nothing was even up there! Works like a charm.
And as usual with almost all of their products, this thing just flat out looks good.

I've purchased Thule racks for every car I've owned and finally they have a product that can be moved to a new car with the change of just a fit kit. In addition, the new design is easy to install and very stable. The only complaint I have is that Thule did not offer this sooner!

Comments about Thule Traverse Foot Pack - Set of 4:
I originally tried the tower/bar system from the other major rack company and I found that it did not fit too well on my car. So I decided to give the Thule rack system a try and boy am I glad I did. Even though the instructions were cryptic and had no words at all, installation was simple. The fit kit was perfect for my car and it literally is absolutely perfect. I truly don't think that the Thule rack system should even be in the same class as their competitor's offering. The Thule system provides a complete car-specific system that is custom tailored to your vehicle. The other racks available from other brands are more of a universal fit and are made to fit many vehicles. I could not be happier with this purchase!

Comments about Thule Traverse Foot Pack - Set of 4:
I bought a super cheap rack online, installed it, strapped my kayak on it, and watched it fly off my car into the middle of the interstate...needless to say I was wearisome when I installed my Thule rack and strapped my kayak on the first time. Everything was super stable, even in my more aerodynamic car. Fit is great, stacker fits great, no worries. Definitely a great buy.

Comments about Thule Traverse Foot Pack - Set of 4:
I was hesitant to buy this product after reading some reviews, but eventually purchased it despite the mixed reviews. I can say that I am very happy with my purchase.
With the addition of the fit kit system, Thule has created a modular system that is easily installed or replaced. In the event of damage(car wreck etc.) you can simply replace the damaged component instead of the whole system. Also if you get a new car, or have more than one, you can easily get a new fit kit for cheaper than a new rack.
The rack is well designed and fits snugly to my '11 VW Golf. The initial setup takes a little longer in order to set the foot pads at the right length, but it only took and extra 20 min. Once the pads are set, they don't need to be moved for a specific car. As a result, removal takes 5 min. and re-installation takes less than 10 min.
The assembly instructions were interesting, maybe not intuitively obvious but I didn't have any trouble with assembling and was rather impressed that Thule conveyed every step with only pictures. Assembly took about 45-50 min due to stubborn load bars. Not too bad.
Finally, this rack system is stable. After complete installation and final adjustments, I grabbed each foot separately on each side and shook my entire car each time. The foot pads didn't budge at all(if they do I would suggest starting over, you did something wrong). I've been driving it around and see between 1-3 mpg drop in fuel economy which was expected(you can't increase mass and drag force and expect to maintain fuel economy). Wind noise is present, but really doesn't bother me. A fairing would help. I bought two lock cylinder since I only have two doors(I lock the back feet above the windows since you can't remove the front ones unless the doors are open). In short the locking cylinders could be improved since they only lock one side of the plastic cover. But they will deter theft but not prevent it if the thief really wants it.
Overall, a great product.

Comments about Thule Traverse Foot Pack - Set of 4:
I must agree with the previous review that this rack was pretty frustrating to install. This is my first roof rack which was installed on my Audi A4 and I consider myself to be a pretty handy individual and I had some issues installing the rack.
The installation instructions are only pictures with not one single word which leaves a lot of questions when trying to mount the rack. If I had any experience with mounting a rack it definitely would have been made my life easier but when I am spending hundreds of dollars on anything I believe they should come with extensive instructions for a safe and easy installation.
The measurements were not 100 percent accurate so once the rack was on the roof i needed to adjust the footpacks in order for them to fit on the roof correctly.
Also, I did not realize that i would need to go back to the store to purchase locks to secure the rack that i have already spent over $300 on, I believe they should come with a locking mechanism already built in. Also, like the previous review states that the locking mechanism is on one side of the footpack which definitely would allow for someone to pry the opposite side and crack the plastic, where they could then steal your entire rack off your car.
I have not used the rack yet, I just finished installing it but I'm not sure that the construction and instructions make this product worth the money.

Comments about Thule Traverse Foot Pack - Set of 4:
I've been faithful to Thule for about 20 years. That ended with Thule's recent line of Traverse 480 footpads. They are designed so that you need a "fit kit" for your specific car. I should've stopped right there[...] But I decided to give it a swing. Long story short: the mess with the fit kit left the rack feeling a bit unsteady. Even worse, trying to get a Thule rep on the phone took a minimum of 40 minutes. Waiting for an email response? Good luck. So I went with the much simpler and sturdy Yakima Q system. Thule really blew it on this one.
