This cooler takes prep work before you go. You have to put ice in the cooler to cool just the cooler off before you pack your food in the cooler. Not really a big deal you just have to be prepared. Once the cooler was cool it kept the food and the ice in the cooler cold and the ice melt slowly. My biggest gripe is that it leaked terribly from around the drain. I tightened the drain plug up but without a good result.

        I bought this cooler even though it was costlier than others because the label stated that it would keep ice for 5 days! This is a lie! It doesn't keep ice any longer than other coolers priced a lot less. The best you can hope for is one day at temps near 90 degrees. So save your money and pass on this product!
