The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Garmin Edge 500 Bundle Wireless Bike Computer:
I was very impressed at how easy this device was to put on a bike, configure and use. It is very quick to recognize the cadence and speed monitors, and also the heart monitor (I've never had much luck with such devices previously). Also, it finds GPS signals very quickly; I used to have a 305 forerunner, but would have to leave it outside (on my wife's car) to acquire a signal as I got ready, only to forget it one time, and then lose it when my wife went out. This is so much better.
I like the firmware as you can also configure what gets displayed, so you can customize it to what you are interested in. As a result, I flick to one page for climbs, and another for just flats. But, regarding software, that's as complimentary as I can get. The training center s/w is poor (have they heard of google maps?). And worse, I found out that at the end of a ride, if you just power down (rather than reset, to "end" the ride), and then power up and reset later, you lose your data. That's not nice. So although I do recommend this, I also recommend Garmin update their firmware and software. Sportstracks does not yet support this device (that's what I used with my forerunner).
To conclude, this is so nearly an excellent product. I recommend it, but not with a huge number of stars.

Comments about Garmin Edge 500 Bundle Wireless Bike Computer:
OK, I was poking around the REI website for accessories (another mount) for this device and saw there was only one review on the bundle and had to chime in. I don't know what issues the other reviewer had, but I've never experienced a problem. In fact, I think the online site, garmin.connect.com, is great to upload and track workout. I've never lost data. When you're done with the ride, hit the Stop button, then power down. This will prevent your low speed movements from messing your stats. The HR strap is comfy enough. The cadence and speed sesnsor synch right up...and you can use the speed sensor to track your gerbil time on the trainer. I use it to commute and road ride and compile all my numbers on Garmin's site. Freakin sweet. An added bonus, I accidentally cracked the screen while it was sitting on my work bench (my fault) and Garmin covered it under their warranty at no cost. I can't guarantee everyone's experience would be the same...I think they usually charge, but the rep I got was cool. At least two of my riding buddies have the device and are stoked by it. It totally appeals to my inner-geek stat analyst nature. I love it.

Comments about Garmin Edge 500 Bundle Wireless Bike Computer:
Bought mine last year after struggling with Sigma(not durable) & Cateye (hard to read). This product is completely perfect. Everything can be adjusted to meet your needs. I love the 3 screen data sheets and the GPS accuracy cant get any better. Also GarminConnect is a great way to track all your ride and improve your entire riding experience. If your going to splurge on one bike product this year than look no further. This is a must have for true cyclist.

Comments about Garmin Edge 500 Bundle Wireless Bike Computer:
I used to try and log my rides, now it is all available on the web uploaded after each ride. You can see your route on a map. You can see your speed, rpm and bpm as you rode the route in player mode.
It provides more information than I can use as I ride.
Despite all the functions, it adds nominal weight to the bike.
The record is an incentive to improve and it adds to pleasure or training.

Comments about Garmin Edge 500 Bundle Wireless Bike Computer:
Totally satisfied except for the fact that it seems REI reboxed it and sold it to me at full price (well, after I burned my coupon on it). I could tell because somebody had logged several hundred miles on it over a 4 month period and they were still on the built-in memory chip of the GPS
