Comments about Gear Aid Zipper Repair Kit:
The sliders came quickly and were pristine, unfortunately they were slightly too small for hte 'zipper-by-the-yard' that I wanted to install them on, but I am certain that I will use then in the future. I also recommand this tutorial http://howtofixazipper.blogspot.com if you have problems with zippers

Comments about Gear Aid Zipper Repair Kit:
1.I used this to repair a coat and not a tent.
2.Directions say, "Pry off metal stop at bottom of the zipper...." Take a look at YOUR metal stop and tell me if you can "Pry it off."
3.What happens if the "stop" is, in my case, plastic?
4.So, what I did was use a single-edge razor blade to cut above the stop into the zipper fabric so I could insert the new slider and sewed up the cut with the thread supplied, but not with the gigantic, weapons-grade (16 guage) needles supplied; I had to use a small, very thin needle.
5. Since the kit is obviously oriented to non-apparel, most of the slides are very big and double-sided. Only two (#5 size) will fit your typical outdoors coat. I wish there was a checkoff Bottom Line category, "Recommend with grave reservations."
