The short-length North Face TKA 100 Microvelour pants have an unparalleled soft hand and have gained impressive efficiencies over the original TKA microfleece fabric. Read on for the details!

Updated Polartec® TKA 100 microfleece provides 10% more warmth and 50% more thermal efficiency than the original TKA 100 at 27% less weight
Fabric is also 24% more breathable and 18% more compressible, giving way to 14 cu. in. of pack space savings
TKA 100 Microvelour pants provide warmth without the weight and bulk of traditional insulating fabrics, and are highly breathable for comfort during numerous activities
Pill-resistant pants dry quickly to minimize heat loss
Fabric provides UPF 30 protection from harmful solar rays
Internal drawcord and hidden back zip pocket

I absolutely loved these pants, my new favorite, until they came unsewn at the pocket area. The hole is located on the left buttock area, so it's very noticeable. I had only had them about 3 weeks. I washed them 3 times and dried them on a drying rack, so it was not from abuse. I loved that these were so soft and warm. They feel awesome against your skin. I'm broken-hearted and hope that I can find someone to repair them. I know that the way the seam is put together, that any repair is going to be bulky and noticeable, but at least I can wear them around the house. I'm surprised because I thought North Face was the benchmark in quality. Not sure I'll be spending the extra money on their brand again.

This negative review has nothing to do with the service I received from REI. They were perfect in every way! The pants were a great price and they arrived very quickly. It's not their fault that the product was not sewn in a sturdy manner. I have not contacted customer service about this issue. Maybe I should have?

I purchased these pants to wear over exercise clothes in the winter and they function well for that. They are warm, soft and easy to put on and take off. The fit is a little large so they are loose through the hips and legs.

I'm a size 6, wear a 27" in jeans, and am 5'5" tall. I have this pant in the Medium Short/Petite. The short (29.5") inseam works perfectly for me because I wear them low and loose on the hips. Keeping the drawstring tied, I can pull them on and off wihtout having to untie it. They washed perfectly on "delicate" in the machine and after hanging to dry they kept the original lofty fleecy goodness. Also, surprisingly warm to wear outside on chilly mornings, but not too hot in the house. They're baggy but not clowny.

I use this product to wear home from the gym after showering and under waterproof rain pants to stay warm when riding a motorcycle in cold weather. I also use it just to relax at home.

I ordered small/short in these pants and they are way too long and way too wide in the leg. I am 5'2" and petites usually fit me, but not these. I may attempt to re-sew them to fit, but for [$] it seems like I should not have to take the time and effort. Might just return them. Still wondering how the designers think that a wide leg pant could possibly keep anyone warm - the air can get up in the legs and freeze you. Why else would I want polartec pants? I expected better from TNF.

The 'new and improved' fleece is most certainly new, but so not improved. I have been buying these pants for years. The change this year is not for the better. I will keep them because I have a hard time finding things in a short inseam, but they are not the high quality of the north face that I have come to expect.
