REI Members get back an estimated $ 6.00 on this item as part of their annual member refund.

    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Metolius Offset Master Cams is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! Perfect for those awful flares These cams are incredible. I purchased just the #4 / #5 (red / black) for a trip to Joshua Tree. We used that piece on every climb. It provided easy, bomber placements in the most awful flared cracks. I have been trad climbing for 4 years now and have lots of great gear. This piece has moved right to the top of the list. Can't wait to buy a few more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not just a specialty aid cam! If you've already got at least a rack and some experience, these cams will blow your mind. My climbing partner and I got into aid climbing a year ago and I decided to get the full range of these offsets for routes in The Valley. Aside from there, we spend most of our time climbing free in YNP, Josh, and around Santa Barbara, CA. My initial intention was to use these cams on our first big wall for tricky placements and to add 6 cams to the double rack for long pitches. First off, WOW. Bang for your buck! If you??re aid climbing: These cams are a no-brainer. They work fantastically where other cams fall (pun heh) short. Pin scars and flaring placements are now bomber! If you??re wondering/laughing about how important that (basically) millimeter of difference between the 00/0 cam lobes is, you will know once you use it: with these micro cams, it can make a HUGE difference. Their head width is narrow and will save you big time while other manufacturers?? cams will not fit because they??re too wide. To complete your offset rack, I would also recommend DMM Offset Nuts and Offset Peenuts. Free climbing: These cams have all become something we both bring up almost all routes that require a 'standard rack.' Natural/differing/non-parallel features eat these cams up and turn tenuous placements into bomber-whipper-horror-fest-reducers (the same goes for DMM offsets FYI). I have placed these confidently on several routes that have 'YER GON DIE!' warnings about psych-pro placements near the crux and huge fall potentials, increasing fall safety by a huge margin. As for the comparable BD X4 version of these cams: I have not used them, however, it looks like BD anodized the lobes different colors, which seems super rad for quick identification when you??re making a placement. Head width comparisons show that the mastercam is ever so slightly thinner, but not by more than ~1-3mm. Climb on! -Danish
