The North Face Apex Bionic women's soft-shell jacket sports windproof features, and its stretchy, comfortable fit is ideal for multiple activities.
- Apex Bionic is a stretch alternative to hard-shell outerwear and can be combined with fleece liners of various lofts to create highly thermal outerwear
- Use Apex Bionic for mid-levels of aerobic activity (hiking, skiing, snowboarding) or in colder weather
- Offering solid performance, Apex ClimateBlock stretch laminated fleece is windproof, ultra water resistant and breathable; fleece backer enhances moisture wicking and warmth
- Durable Water Repellent finish fends off light rain showers and snow
- Windflap backs front zipper, and chin guard protects against zipper abrasion

This is a great jacket! I call it my 3-season jacket; it gets me through wet springs, chilly autumns and mild winters. The jacket is very waterproof, so if you were to use this as a ski or snowboarding jacket, I would recommend getting the next size up so you could layer it with a fleece underneath. The size is slim, so you can't wear anything too bulky underneath with getting your true size. Overall, this is a great jacket! I have recommended it to many friends, and acquaintances.

I'm disappointed with this jacket. I'd read so many great reviews about how warm and versatile it was. My gripes: it's very stiff/doesn't move well & doesn't seem very breathable (& no pit zips!), so IMO, not good for skiing, hiking, or climbing. I'm 5'3", 110 lbs, usually a XS or S in TNF. The S fits, but if I roll my shoulders back, it felt tight across the chest (I'm pretty flat). It would definitely feel tight if I had any mid-weight layers underneath, which would be necessary in the winter b/c it's much thinner than expected & doesn't seem like it would be very warm. Also, the cuffs are really tight, so you can't roll them up if you get warm. It's kind of short, so not good coverage in the cold. If you want a nice-looking, tailored spring/fall windproof jacket for around town, this is it. I was hoping for something breathable enough for outdoor activities, and versatile enough to use with layers in the winter or worn alone for spring/fall.

First off I'm about 120 pounds large chested (meaning broad and long), small breasted, and 5ft 9inches. I'm also a young adult and prefer low waisted pants/bottoms. With that said, focus on my title. I have a size small in the purple which is my true size. Accept for that the first reviewer was disappointed I completely agree with her. This is not a long torso, flexible, super breathable, or super stretchy jacket. If you want something like that I recommend you look at a bestseller fleece from north face called Denali (there are 3 versions). If u want super stretchy view the NF Ruby Rashel or better yet the NF Apex Elixer. Or anouther similiar NF shell. In your true size I wouldn't expect much layers if any to fit underneath it. This jackets biggest selling points are it's high water repelantce, style, and 100 % windproof. It's breathable and stretchy but, you can defiantly find jackets that are better at those features. It doesn't claim to be super stretchy or very breathable. The neck is a little stiff but, foldable to go down. For what it is it's awesome!

I really like this jacket. I ordered it last spring and wore it quite a lot. It is very warm and blocks the wind well. I wore it on a 10 mile hike in 35 degree weather with strong wind and stayed pretty warm. I am very pleased with the performance of the jacket, it is made well and I expect to use it for several years.

This is a great jacket and I am glad that I bought it. It is worth the full price of the jacket mainly because it is well made and able to be used in multiple seasons. The jacket is lightweight but warm and also very good in rain. The only complaint I have is that the collar is very stiff and the wrist of the sleeves could be a little more relaxed. I ended up buying a size larger than I usually do because of this; I usually like my jackets a little loose. But despite this I still love this jacket and wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.
