Comments about LEZYNE Steel Drive Flloor Pump:
The pump barrel is threaded up about 5/16 inch on the inside at the bottom and screws down over the cast aluminum base. It proved a very flimsy design. After a half dozen uses the barrel bottom flared out and broke out at the base. Lezyne replaced the pump but declined to pay return shipping. They sent a white pump, saying they were "out" of the black ones. The replecment pump lasted exactly one usage then the gauge broke. After many email messages they sent a replacement gauge with preprinted instructions to replace it. They omitted the special Loctite compound which the instructions said I neeeded to seal the gauge threads, saying they were "out" of that, and I would have to buy it on my own.
Service and delivery comments:
Lezyne customer service was slow and full of excuses that were difficult to believe. I came away with an intense desire never to purchase another product of this brand.

Comments about LEZYNE Steel Drive Flloor Pump:
I was looking for a floor pump that would get road-bike tires over 100 PSI most efficiently. I did side-by-side tests with this and 3 other floor pumps. The other 3 were recommended by REI staff and 2 were more expensive than this Lezyne. The salespersons said they weren't familiar with it - I picked it because it seemed the best-built (durable, higher-quality material) of all pumps in the store.
The difference was stunning; the Lezyne got the pressure up to 100 faster and easier and never felt it was being strained to get there. The other pumps either required way too much force or felt like they would snap in two. I think the screw-on chuck is great; takes a couple extra seconds to attach but it means all of the pressurized air generated is going into the tire.
I've had the pump for over a month and have used it a couple dozen times; with each use I actually find myself thinking, 'Wow, this is a great pump'. I never write product reviews but this one is just plain worthy - especially since it was the top performer without being the most-expensive.

Comments about LEZYNE Steel Drive Flloor Pump:
We bought several pumps that didn't work before we got this one. It was a real relief to finally get one that worked!
The nozzle is screw-on, seals well and is easy to use compared to push-on ones, which can be a real struggle to get on. It doesn't leak too much when you're unscrewing it, and it works on flats as well as top-ups -- one pump that used pressure to automatically choose between its schraeder and its presta head didn't.
The piston feels a bit dry, like it's not oiled enough, when you're pushing it. (Gee, maybe I should get out the oil.) And with its long rod, you don't want to pull it all the way out or let a kid pump too fast, or they might bend it. On the other hand, it pumps fairly fast and easily. We've done bike tires to 80 psi and car tires (200 pumps/tire - hard work, but not so hard that I couldn't do all 4 tires and the spare in one session). We've had no trouble with it the 6 months we've had it and would buy it again.

Comments about LEZYNE Steel Drive Flloor Pump:
I received a Lezne steel floor drive pump as a gift and it has kept on giving. I have used nearly all other brands of pumps and this one has by far been the best. It is simple, straight forward and has not had any trouble and I have put it through the ringer on multiple trips to and from races in the back of a pickup. The screw on valve is not as fast as a 'smart head' but it is much easier to use.

Comments about LEZYNE Steel Drive Flloor Pump:
After a few months the hose developed a leak where the two black plastic sections rotate to let you screw the pump head on the Presta valve. This causes the pressure gauge to drop rapidly after each stroke, leaving you to guess what the real pressure is. If not for this defect it would be a great pump, but I cannot recommend it as is.

Comments about LEZYNE Steel Drive Flloor Pump:
My old floor pump had too much plastic in all the wrong places and failed, although it was a high-priced pump. I went to find a replacement at REI and this one looked solid. As a bonus, it was 25% off when I went to check out.
Got home and pumped up the tires on a few of my bikes. The screw-on chuck makes a solid attachment. I was amazed at how smooth the pumping action was. Very sold feel. Kind of weird to get all excited about using a floor pump. Maybe I just haven't gotten anything new in a while. But it is a great pump and well worth the money. Time will tell if it is durable. I would highly recommend this pump.

Comments about LEZYNE Steel Drive Flloor Pump:
I have used 3 other pumps before this and returned them all. This is the best pump ever!! It's so simple and straightforward to attach and use. The thread-on adapter makes it SO easy to hook up to the tire. Previously used push on style are often a headache. I actually just watched my friend use his push on and accidentally bent the inner piece of his presta valve a little (I've done this and it's not uncommon to see happen with press on pumps).
The pump is easy to use, I'm 135 lbs and have no problem pumping mine up to 125 psi. I would recommend this pump to everyone! :)

Comments about LEZYNE Steel Drive Flloor Pump:
Overall, this is an excellent pump with one nearly fatal flaw.
Let's start with the good first:
* Rock solid construction
* Accurate and readable meter
* Supports both Schrader and Presta valves
* Reasonable price, given the quality level
* For Schrader valves, this is a 5-star product
And now the bad:
The Presta valve adapter is TERRIBLE. I have owned two of these pumps now, and both got to a point where the presta valve adapter, even fully screwed onto the valve, would not depress the pin to allow air into the tube. Effectively, this means that you can't pump any air into the tube! I've had this happen on multiple tubes by different manufacturers. I was able to fix the problem by rigging the adapter, and this works OK. However, I end up losing air as I unscrew the adapter from the valve. Frustrating.
Bottom line, for Schrader, this is a 5-star pump. For Presta, it's maybe 3 stars. If the fix the adapter somehow, it could be a 5-star product.

Comments about LEZYNE Steel Drive Flloor Pump:
Screws on with a tight seal and no blow-by. About 20 strokes and I had 105 psi (Presta). Can't ask for anything better than that.

Great pump, awesome classic design, precise gauge, long tube and the best valve system I've seen
For the money, this is as good as it gets in my opinion
