Comments about CamelBak Podium Bottle - 24 fl. oz.:
This is by far the best bottle I've used. Squeeze it and water comes out with a purpose. Stop squeezing and there are no drips or dribbles, even when it's upside down.
I like that the Jet Valve is inside the tip and protected from the road grime that accumulates on the tips of other bottles and ends up in your mouth when pulling the nozzle open.
I've carried sports drinks in it one day, washed it, then filled it with water and there was no noticable aftertaste unlike other bottles I've used.
This is a great bottle that just plain works well.

Comments about CamelBak Podium Bottle - 24 fl. oz.:
When I started year-round bike commuting a few years ago I was looking for a water bottle that was more convenient than the traditional push-up/ push-down closure and had limited aftertaste. Luckily, I picked the Camelback Podium.
I have been using that original bottle for over three years and while the outside markings have almost completely vanished, the bottle continues to work fine. I have since purchased several more for me as well as for my wife and children and they all work great.
The bottles have taken some abuse from falling out of the cage on the bumpy roads around DC on occasion (or me missing the cage on re-entry...) but only once have I had a rip in the valve. Camelback sent me a new top and the bottle returned to service.
I have not tried the insulated version since I value quantity over temperature but my bike-commuting colleague (whose judgment I trust) here says it has all the same qualities as the regular podium bottle...
My kids can takes these bottle to school without fear of spills but they usually use the hard-plastic Camelback Better Bottle or Waterbox bottles for that purpose.

I bought this because I had some extra dividend and because I thought the "always open always closed" technology would be cool and great for biking... I was right! This is such a great idea! And it doesn't leak! Plus it doesn't make your water taste bad! I forgot about it once and had it filled, sitting in the fridge and after 4 days the water still tasted normal. I love this bottle so much I ordered a 2nd one!!! And it matches my bike! I will definitely recommend this to any biker I see!

Comments about CamelBak Podium Bottle - 24 fl. oz.:
I don't write reviews on anything unless I've used it thoroughly. After about a year of trying different bottles, the Camelbak Podium is the one I keep coming back to.
The ONLY meaningful difference between this bottle and every other bottle out there is the valve: the "Jet Valve."
It's a silicone "lip" (I can't think of any other way to describe it) that effectively keeps the liquid in. When you build enough pressure in the bottle (by squeezing it), it will overcome the valve, "pop" it and allow a PORTION of water to flow.
This is perfect for me as I bike 4 miles to work. I often have to throw my bottle into whatever bag I'm using as dictated by the day. The Jet Valve prevents the water from leaking out onto my papers, lunch, clothes and whatever else I may have in my Ortlieb backpack, briefcase, etc. I once found it had landed nozzle down in my back pack and NOTHING WAS WET.
The one time it DID leak was probably because I leaned up against my backpack and gave the bottle a squeeze. Even then, the miniscule amount of water that escaped was of little consequence. (Up to this point, I had wondered why they bothered to engineer a "closed" position in the valve since it never leaked. I now twist the valve closed when I expect to jostle my pack but 99% of the time, I never have to.)
The Jet Valve does have ONE point I don't care for. While it does a great job of keeping water from leaking all over my stuff, you have to squeeze a little harder than you would with a normal bottle to get a drink. I'm sure there are a ton of people out there (in better shape than me) who probably won't care. But, for me, after 10 miles of working the brake and shifter, I don't want to have to squeeze my bottle harder than I should just to get a drink. But if you're in a rush to work (and who isn't?) or have to carry you bottle with OTHER things, the Camelbak Podium Bottle truly is the best for commuting.
That being said, I NEVER use it on the weekends or other long rides where my water bottle sits in the cage the entire time. For those, I use anything else with a standard "pull it open with your teeth" kind of bottles as the water flows quickly & easily just by tipping the bottle up and squeezing slightly.
One last point: freezing your bottle. I tried this method just this summer so the water would actually refresh and not merely hydrate.
I don't know if it was the mass of the ice block that had formed inside or if the plastic had become brittle from being in the freezer for 8 hours but I dropped the bottle and it cracked almost in half up and down the sides! I lost two bottles that way. Be extra careful if you freeze your bottles!
Also, while the Jet Valve keeps water in, it won't do a thing for the "sweat" (condensation) that WILL form on the outside of the bottle because of the ice. Your stuff WILL get wet. (I think I can remedy this by buying the insulated Camelbak Podium Chill Bottle but with the end of 100 degree days, I can't justify the purchase.)
All in all, it's a decent bottle for almost every kind of riding but PERFECT for commuting with other gear!
One final detail: I don't taste plastic when I drink out of it; only water. (But I'm sure some will disagree.)

Comments about CamelBak Podium Bottle - 24 fl. oz.:
I got this bottle to use with the Topeak Shuttle Cage. The two fit together extremely well, no bending required. The bottle holds plenty of water, doesn't leak a drop, and gives a good flow of water will a little squeeze or suck. Plus, it doesn't flavor the water at all. Great bottle.

Comments about CamelBak Podium Bottle - 24 fl. oz.:
This is a nice bottle for cycling. It does not leak but at the same time it is easy enough to get water out of the bottle--you can either just sip or squeeze for added flow. The 24 oz capacity is nice too and does not add extra bulk to the bottle. Lastly, I like the fact that you can lock the valve shut so that you can transport this bottle full without having to worry about liquid spilling.

Comments about CamelBak Podium Bottle - 24 fl. oz.:
I use these water bottles for my road bike. I honestly cannot understand how these bottles can receive anything less than a 5 star rating. First of all, if you leave any bottle with a loose lid, it will leak. Secondly, this bottle does not make any noise as long as you have it set to open drink mode. These bottles are great and do their job, I love not having to open and close the drinking valve with my teeth and chin. Highly recommended!!

Love this water bottle! No nasty taste or smell, which is a huge plus! I take it to work, gym, etc. I even take it to bed with me. I love that I can lie in bed and drink versus having to sit up so that I don't spill water on myself. Even if the valve is set to full, it won't leak whether upside down or sideways. The lock feature is also very handy. I have 2 and will probably purchase more.

Comments about CamelBak Podium Bottle - 24 fl. oz.:
The Specialized water bottles have been the standard bearer of excellence for quite awhile. The CamelBak Podium has, IMHO, set a new standard for bicycling water bottles. It has a great lid seal and awesome valve. Dishwasher safe (top rack, of course), no tainted taste, and no BPA's. Definitely a winner.
