Comments about CamelBak Podium Chill Bottle - 21 fl. oz.:
So far this bottle is the best I've used. I was looking for something with a decent capacity that had insulation. So, far it has kept things cold. We'll see this summer when it's 90*+ for a morning ride.

I also have the stainless steel version and that retains temperature much better. This will keep liquids cool but not for long, even with ice. As a cyclist this is the best available due to their weight so I'm going to have to learn to love them.

Comments about CamelBak Podium Chill Bottle - 21 fl. oz.:
I use two of these bottles when I'm cycling and they both leak! No matter what I do, they leak at the threads between the bottle and the cap. They're leaking while they're in the bottle cages and it's a sticky mess (from the sports drinks)all over the bike, my gloves, and then anything I touch. I've tried filling the bottles only 3/4, squeeze excess air out of the bottle before the ride, leave excess air in the bottle before the ride, and I tried drinking from the bottle without squeezing it. I tightened the cap as much as possible and I can still hear air escaping if I squeeze the bottles with the valve closed. I would give the bottles 5 stars if they didn't leak.

Comments about CamelBak Podium Chill Bottle - 21 fl. oz.:
The only flaw I've noticed is that I need to close the valve before filling it and screwing the cover on - otherwise it leaks around the rim.
What works: it kept my fluids cold during a two-hour ride home from work with a 115 degree heat index. When I ride home from the office, I put a regular bottle and this one in the fridge during the day along with my gatorade. I keep the lids off the bottles to help chill the insides. I fill two bottles with cold gatorade and put them in my bottle racks on my bike. On the +100 degree days, the other bottle is warm in 30 minutes. Any fluids remaining in the Camelback bottle are still cold at the end of the two hour ride. For rides longer than 2 hours, I use my very old Camelback 100oz mule.
And it's durable: multiple times bumps have ejected it from my bottle rack without spilling or harming the bottle.

Comments about CamelBak Podium Chill Bottle - 21 fl. oz.:
I bought this bottle because my last one broke. I went on REI.com, looked around a bit at bottles under $15, and read some reviews on the standard Podium 24 and 21. I decided on the 21 because of color choice. I made REI my first stop on my very next ride and used it right out of the store. What drew my attention was that no one complained about it leaking, it's easily squeezable, and I have to admit - the self sealing tip had me intrigued. It's definitely really nice that I can just reach down, grab my bottle, and squirt or suck. I don't have to pop open the cap with my teeth or hands like on my other bottle. It was awkward at first, though, seeing as it has to reach a certain pressure before it'll squirt... so it does shoot right into your mouth and it startled me the first time hahaIt hasn't leaked on me yet, I've only had it for one 20 mile ride on my bicycle so far.I really wanted the capacity of the 24, but liked the color scheme available for the 21 so I'm kind of bummed about that, but no biggy. The 21 works just fine and I don't stop any more often than I did with my old 24. Plus the slightly shorter profile doesn't feel so wobbly in my hand while getting a drink mid-ride.It's a comfortable bottle to hold. It's a good diameter match to my hand and the grips around the neck felt surpisingly well placed. The cap itself even has notches to help grip it while tightening it on.My only two gripes amongst my first impression is that it was [$] and that it didn't have a cap to cover the tip from road debris.Call me cheap, whatever I don't make much and don't have much leftover to spend, but I feel this bottle's valued more at $6.The fact that it doesn't have a cap to cover the tip from road debris isn't too big of a deal, I'm no germaphobe (or however you spell it), I mean come on I filled it up right out of the store without even washing it or rinsing it out... but it just would have been nice to have considering everything I ride through that flies up off the tires. All in all I'd say this is a great bottle and I'd recommend it if you're looking for something simple under $15. I'm glad I stepped it up from the typical pop-cap design, but I'm no crazy sport junky that needs some high tech $25 dollar bottle either... just something to hold a little water on hikes and rides. It's great for all around use. I'm an every day bicycle commuter and it'll definitely serve it's purpose. I can also see myself using this on hikes, camping trips, and other recreational activities as well. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is because it's simple, serves its purpose, and met my expectations... but didn't blow me away. It's a cool bottle. I'll probably get another one when this one's done for.Oh and one last thing - it is pretty innovative how you can pull the tip off to wash it out. Good thinking on that one Camelbak!

This is the best bottle on the market. Fill it half way with ice and then water or sports drink. The flow is dead on and it doesn't leak when the jet value is open. Rode 2 1/2 hours in 90+ heat and there was still ice in the bottle at the end of the ride. Easy to carry on runs as well. Absolutely no plastic taste at all. Just throw your other bottles away, this is the one you need. While the instructions with the bottle say to hand wash it, my brother in law has been putting his in the dishwasher for 6 months with no problems. I'm hand washing mine.

I love this bottle I haven't been able to compare it to any other insulated water bottle's but I use it for everything. My favorite part about having it now is it basically promotes me to drinking more water, cause i prefer to use it over any other glass at home because it keeps whatever i'm drinking colder for longer and who wouldn't want that. I take it with me in the car for drives. Best thing I've bought in a long time.

Comments about CamelBak Podium Chill Bottle - 21 fl. oz.:
I love this bottle. I had decided to buy an insulated bottle and was going to go with a Polar Bottle, but two REI staffers working in the bike department recommended this one. Much like a previous reviewer, I bought the bottle for bike rides (we had a very hot summer in Madison), but I've started using it everywhere- in my hot yoga classes, spin class, at school, etc. The valve/nozzle is awesome. I don't have to fiddle with it when I'm thirsty, but if I knock the bottle over it doesn't spill everywhere. I've had no problems with leakage or plastic taste and it doesn't get slippery with condensation, even in a humid, 90 degree room when it's full of ice water. My one wish would be for a larger volume.

Have used two of these since earlier this summer. These are the only water bottles I've ever used that truly keep water cold. Typically I'll fill 1/2 way the night before and freeze, topping off with water right before riding. On a typical 2-3hr ride in the summer there's still ice in the bottle well into the ride. If you fill and freeze one, that bottle will remain with ice in it until the very end of the ride. Haven't noticed taste problems, but I usually drink highly diluted powdered Gatorade or iced tea, so perhaps I'm masking any plastic taste.
