Comments about ALPS Mountaineering Orizaba Pack - 64 Liters - '08 Closeout:
This is truly an outstanding pack. It is lighter weight than its competitors and just about bomb-proof plus it holds a ton of stuff.
It is a perfect pack for young Scouts and up. You cannot find a more feature rich piece of gear for the weight. It's comfortable up through about 45 lbs and can handle 60lbs w/o complaints (though you will). The hip belt is really not made for "fat guys" so if you are on the portly side you should consider a different pack. The Pack allow top and front loading, has a bag compartment, integrated rain cover with storage, a lid that is also a fanny pack and it adjusts for spine length to get a perfect fit. If you buy this pack you will need to play with it to get the fit right. It took my son a good 40 miles of hikes to finally nail all of the adjustments. This pack has seen the AT, North Country, Polly Ann, and Chief Pontiac Trails and is now heading to Philmont.

Comments about ALPS Mountaineering Orizaba Pack - 64 Liters - '08 Closeout:
Just used this on a 7 day 42 mile loop around Mineral King in Sequoia Natl Park. Some rugged terrain and I had some doubts about the durability of this pack. But it came through with flying colors! Thought the buckles, waist strap especially might be a little light for the use but no problems on this hike. Originally bought it to lighten my total weight and it performed very well, plus lived up to all my expectations.
Great deal at the outlet, would not hesitate to buy another one.
