The ALPS Mountaineering Meramac 4 is a freestanding 4-person, 2-door tent that's great for fun family camping trips!
- Shockcorded fiberglass poles are 1 size larger than normal for strength and sturdiness
- Polyester taffeta body and fly are lightweight yet long lasting
- Walls have been left uncoated so the tent can breathe under the urethane-coated fly, which reduces condensation buildup
- Center fly pole creates an awning over each door; full-coverage rainfly ensures excellent rain protection
- Factory-sealed seams on the floor and fly increase water repellency
- 2 doors allow convenient, easy entry and exit, eliminating the need to crawl over others to get in and out

I set it up in my garage first and was surprised how easy it was. I have used it 4 times on Sonoma Coast and it was roomy and comfortable for two adults and two small dogs. No rain test yet but a great car tent that is small to pack.[...] It's a good tent.

I took this tent out for its first use on a car camping trip and I like it. It rained hard all night and there was not a drop of water in the tent. It ventilated well and was roomy. Zippers were easy to use one handed.

Keeps out the rain and wind quite well. I like the little windows in the fly. Lots of headroom, it's a good height. Poles are very substantial. The satchel it comes in has room for a large tarp. The gear loft is a nice feature, and it has two gear pockets. Fits a family of four easily. Totally worth the dough!
This tent is kinda heavy, so it's best for car camping or a short walk-in. I wish I could find its footprint. Also, the floorplan is not square but rectangular, which I know is a minor gripe.

This tent is really fast and easy to set up with two people. One person could also successfully assemble this tent quickly. Queen + twin air mattress fit perfectly in this tent with small isle to enter. Tent is versatile in varying weather conditions. I've camped in multiple thunderstorms without a drop of water in the tent. Fly is big and completely covers the windows, it can be adjusted for more or less airflow. Overall I'm very impressed with this tent and give it a glowing recommendation.

I took this tent camping on a two night trip to Elk Neck State Park in Maryland.
Temps were in the 40's at night.
The tent was super easy to setup. The clips that hold the tent to the poles make the build a breeze. I was able to setup this tent in under 5 minutes with zero hassle.
Our second night we had a storm come through. There was a inch of rain in a pot we had left out. The inside of the tent stayed dry and completely comfortable.
For me the tent was plenty roomy enough. I'm 5'10 and could mostly stand upright inside the tent (I had to stoop a little).
It was just me and my dog in the tent, so there was plenty of room inside too.
The storage loft is genius. Great place to leave my Kindle, a glow stick, and my phone.
