Gritty and geared for competition, the GT Type CX bike is at home in the mud-covered and grass-filled races of the cold and wet months. Don't forget your cowbell.

  • Lightweight and strong, the 7005 aluminum frame provides the stiffness required for quick acceleration, efficient power transfer and easy carries
  • Drivetrain features a 'cross-specific FSA Vero Cross crankset, Shimano Sora shifters and Tiagra derailleurs to ensure easy, precise performance anywhere within the 18 gears
  • Retro-style Tektro cantilever brakes boast powerful leverage and plenty of clearance for mud; cartridge brake pads are quick and easy to replace
  • Kenda Kwicker tires have a supple 60 tpi casing and supply traction through the mud, across the grass and across the finish line
  • Cockpit is filled with FSA goodies, including a Vero compact handlebar, stem and seatpost, which is topped with a WTB Rocket V Comp saddle
  • Cables are routed across the top of the toptube for minimal interference from mud and on run-ups

After its initial break-in period you might notice your bicycle performing less responsively than the day you brought it home. Not to worry, this is typical of all new bicycles and simply reflects that cables have stretched or their housings have seated themselves into final position. To keep running at peak performance, all REI bicycles come with a FREE warranty tune-up, which should be accomplished between the first 100-200 miles of riding or after the first two months if you're accumulating miles less quickly.
