Built specifically for urban riding, the Cannondale Bad Boy Solo bike is a city-savvy steed with nimble handling, powerful hydraulic disc brakes and cushy 50mm front suspension.

  • 6061 aluminum frame lends itself to quick acceleration, and the geometry offers responsive maneuvering without feeling too twitchy
  • Fatty Solo DL 50 Urban suspension fork provides 50mm of pothole-damping suspension and unique 1-legged style
  • Smooth-shifting 27-speed drivetrain features SRAM X-7 components to comfortably spin you up steep hills, through concrete canyons and along riverside bike paths
  • Avid Juicy 3 hydraulic disc brakes make quick work of reducing speed, even in the rain
  • Fast and stable Schwalbe Kojack tires feature RaceGuard protection belt for puncture protection
  • Platform pedals accept most shoes—just get on and pedal
  • Specs are subject to change

After its initial break-in period you might notice your bicycle performing less responsively than the day you brought it home. Not to worry, this is typical of all new bicycles and simply reflects that cables have stretched or their housings have seated themselves into final position. To keep running at peak performance, all REI bicycles come with a FREE warranty tune-up, which should be accomplished between the first 100-200 miles of riding or after the first two months if you're accumulating miles less quickly. Contact your nearest REI bike shop for details and an appointment for this important service.

Comments about Cannondale Bad Boy Solo Bike - 2010:

This is a great bike. My local REI did not have it in stock so I had to order a standard bad boy first to get the right size. I am 5' 7" with short legs so the Medium was a little too tall for me. My standover height was right on the bar. Thanks to REI policy I was able to swap for a small, but then after some riding/demo I found that I wanted this bike with the lefty headshok suspension. The standard model is very stiff and you feel everything while biking on the road. The solo solves this problem w/ suspension. My only gripe is the tires look super thin and look like riding them over sandpaper could make it pop. Schwalb website rates them as very strong/durable so maybe I am just paranoid :)

Overall a great bike. I upgraded the handle bars with Ergon GC2s

Comments about Cannondale Bad Boy Solo Bike - 2010:

I've been commuting on my Bad Boy for about 3 months now. I can't say how much I love this bike. It's fast, agile, well built, tough enough to handle Boston's pothole filled streets and to top it all off it is the coolest looking machine in my office's bike shed.
