Comments about Fenix E01 LED Flashlight - '09 Overstock:
I'm a cop. This little wonder fits into the nooks of any pocket so its always available. My philosophy - it is far better to carry this thing than to not carry anything at all. I have the bigger flashlights (Surefire and the bigger broter Fenix lights) but in everyday clothing (out of uniform without my duty belt), I never carry the bigger lights. Too much weight and too bulky. I find myself reaching for this light over my bigger - albeit more capable units. This Fenix has a flood beam (no spot to speak of) and is useful for lighting the area immediately around you - 10 feet or so. I have used this little marvel while cooking around a campsite, writing citations in my cruiser, and reading in the dark. I wish it had a dim setting because 10 lumens is sometimes a bit more light than one needs. I've dropped my light on concrete, in mud, in standing water - no problems. Highly durable - it is my backup light while on duty. The twist mechanism is bulletproof and will not fail you and battery life is extraordinary due to the limited output.

Comments about Fenix E01 LED Flashlight - '09 Overstock:
You never know how handy a flashlight is until you carry one everywhere. I've owned many other flashlights over the years and have recently discovered that you really do get what you pay for.
Fenix makes great flashlights and uses the newest in LED technology.
This flashlight is perfect to put on your keychain. It's simple to use and very bright.
Others have said that they dislike the fact that the beam isn't adjustable. To me, I don't think that a pocket/keychain light needs to be adjustable...just simple to use. This light replaces a micro photon...which had replace an aaa maglight.
If I were to have a complaint, it would be that the beam has a slightly purple hue. Also, some of the finish is wearing. That's is to be expected though considering it's rubbing up with my keys. It's aluminum so I'm not worried about rust.
My girlfriend noticed how much I used it that she asked me to get one for her...in purple ;-)
Oh, one more note. To get the most of this light. Use lithium batteries. You'll get a brighter beam and longer life.

I can't believe I bought this thing. Nothing wrong with it: it's as advertised but it's tiny (well, it's supposed to be) but it's not adjustable and, while very bright for it's size, it'll be most useful for a tent light or unlocking a door at night. I have lights much more powerful that aren't that much larger. If I saw this in person prior to buying, I wouldn't have considered it. My keychain Maglight is, in my opinion, superior and cheaper.

Comments about Fenix E01 LED Flashlight - '09 Overstock:
Great little light, just as advertised. Put it on my key ring as an upgrade from a larger yet less bright mini- light, and so pleased with it I bought 2 more.
So tiny and light (1 oz +/-) you can drop it in your shirt pocket and it goes unnoticed (it is indeed just slightly bigger than an AAA battery). 10 Lumens is a lot of light; you'll find it outshines most 6-and-9-LED lights found in chain stores, and ample light for most conceivable everyday needs. Ideal for one-bag travel or UL trekking. Not a 500-foot long distance light, but great for illuminating clearly a moonless trail, finding lost objects in bottomless packs or unlit trunks, navigating pitch black foreign alleys, etc. You may, like me, wind up getting several. I do wish REI would bring back the Fenix LD01, an only slightly larger more expensive big brother with multiple light settings...but you won't regret getting one or more E01's at a good price.

This is a great little light. It's about the size of a AA battery and is deceptively bright. I carry one attached to my keys and find myself using it most everyday. Its small size and minimal weight allow me to have a light at all times. I will never be without a light again! Highly recommended!

This light is plenty bright enough for most hiking and camping uses. Reading in the tent, puttering around camp, midnight visits to the bushes, packing up before sunrise or setting up camp after dark, this unit will give you the light you need, at a weight you are willing to carry. It is so small and light you can carry it everywhere, which means you will have it when you need it. It is the perfect ultra-light backpacking light, or a back-up light in case your main light fails.

This handy flashlight is very light and compact, and goes anywhere, even on a keychain. I also bought a couple for each car, and to give out as gifts. The light is white (not yellow) and very bright, and though the beam is not adjustable, it seems focused just right. I think I might get a few more.

Comments about Fenix E01 LED Flashlight - '09 Overstock:
I think this flashlight is just about perfect! It has a really long battery life, and 10 lumens is more than enough light for a flashlight this size. The price is right, too!
This flashlight replaced my keyring Solitaire, and I find myself using it all the time. The beam diffuses quickly, but the intended use is for close stuff anyway. There are no rings, so there is a great field of vision. The packaging says it lasts 11 hours and then shifts to 'moon' mode for another 10. I haven't timed it, but it looks like it lasts a long time.
I feel comfortable taking this backpacking, as 10 lumens is usually plenty for most things around camp, and I have a tactical light that produces 220 lumens for a short time in case of emergencies. A spare AAA battery or two hardly adds any weight, so I know I will not be without light even if I use the thing as a night light.
The case is quality construction, and the size is smaller than the Solitaire. You can safely use lithium batteries for even better life and lighter weight. I would definitely purchase another one of these.
