Thumbs-up for cycling shoes!
As an aging jock with myriad foot issues, my feet were fast becoming the limiting factor in how far or hard I could ride my bike. In my cycling shoes, hard insoles created pressure points. Cushioned insoles felt great right out of the box but eventually allowed enough foot movement to create hot spots. Never before have I had my feet so comfortably and firmly held in place. Soles mold to my footprint, but not so much that there's no support. The somewhat rearward arch is high and firm enough to form a deep heel pocket, preventing my feet from sliding forward. I can hardly wait to try a pair of these in my ski boots this winter.
Made my Chuck Taylors wearable!
I chose to wear Chuck Taylors on an urban exploration trip in China and Taiwan. Knowing I'd walk miles and miles per day, a good insole was necessary. I tried several brands in the store and eventually chose these because they were relatively low volume, didn't move around or bunch up in the toebox, and had decent support. I did use the heat and custom form option but can't say if that was better than just wearing them straight out of the box. If not these, my next choice would have been the DK version by SOLE. The 2 week trip just ended and my feet, knees, and back felt great the whole time. Without these, the Converse All Stars would not have been an option for this trip.
My Sidi bike shoes work again!
First, I would suggest one not mail order their first pair of these. Compared to the actual shoe vs the Sole sizing chart, they are greatly over-sized. The chart said I should order Euro 44 for my 43 shoes. Instead, although I ordered Euro 42 instead, they were still at least 1/4" larger all around. That said, the soles do trim nicely. I wore them in my old Sidi bike shoes on a very hilly ride this past weekend (about 3140' climbing). I had no pain in my arch, my bunion, and (for the first time in recent memory) no hammer toe issues. I am happy to say I can now put off shopping for a different shoe for at least the rest of this season. Great product!
quality full arch support with low volume
I have two pairs of super feet. the green high volume and black low volume which I use between different hiking and athletic shoes and they work well. I recently bought these for some new salewa firetail mid gtx hiking boots for low volume support and they are excellent. much better full arch support than superfeet for my foot. I have the beginnings of a bunion and collapsing arch maybe and needed something exactly like these. Very satisfied. have not yet heated and might not even cause they feel great. Also like the fairly wide toe box area of the foot bed (trimmable if to wide) which gives my forefoot and toes the ability to spread out and work properly and not be crunched in front of my boot.
Not useful in sports shoes for training
Bought these in a store for shoes used in studio gym classes (step, body pump, and similar). The package description, unlike the product description above, suggests that they will be useful for all types of sport shoes particularly those used in indoor gym studios. This couldn't be more wrong. While the insoles provide good arch support (which was one feature I was looking for) they lack cushioning, particularly in the forefoot but also in the heel, that I would have expected in an insole that would be useful in a indoor gym shoe. If you are looking for arch support without any forefoot cushioning they might work for you but for me they were a big disappointment.
OK
Put in my Vasque Mindbenders trail running shoes, replacing original footbed insert. For some reason, it doesn't seem to fit well, even after some light trimming. Size is correct. There is one place under the ball of my foot where Sole developed a couple wrinkles. Have used for 200+ miles, and have started experiencing some back pain for first time with these shoes. I am not sure if it is the insoles or what. They seemed nice when I purchased, and they are probably a good replacement for most.
Necessary part of my footwear
These footbeds, or the thicker ones, go in all my hiking boots and also in my ski boots. I have a foot shape which is often difficult to fit and these footbeds make all the difference.
Good thin insoles...
I bought these to replace the insoles in a pair of cycling shoes and they were exactly what I was looking for: thin and stiff Heat molding helped them fit perfectly in the shoe and made them very comfortable from the first use. Would give 5 stars but I am still not sure why they are so expensive??
Great support for the long haul
I've suffered with plantar faciitis for a number of years. With the SOLE footbeds in my boots I was recently able to complete a two-week backpacking trek with no pain whatsoever. I like them so much I'm going to put them in all my shoes and ditch my orthotics.
As good as My 300$$ Orthotics
These insoles are just as good, if not better then my $300.00 Orthotic's Highly recommend if you have any foot or leg issues
