The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers Classic Multisport Shoes - Men's:
Despite being rather silly looking and the center of attention that I wasn't really aiming for, these shoes have made every day activity fun again. Everything I liked as a kid about being barefoot, but none of the fear of sharp rocks or screaming hot pavement. I feel planted and balanced when working out, I feel all of the trail while hiking, even walking on the sidewalk I can feel the texture of the concrete without worrying about glass of gum. This is my first pair, but I think I am now a lifer. Also, I have a bad back (because I am old) but have found these shoes force me to walk naturally and I don't strike my heels anymore which reduces the shock to my back. Super recommend these!

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers Classic Multisport Shoes - Men's:
This is my third pair of Vibram 5s. I also have the Sprint and the KSO. After getting past the undeniable fact that they look weird and attract more attention than I would prefer, they are the most comfortable footwear imaginable. They are the only shoes I have ever owned which I actually looked forward to wearing. The one caveat is that I currently have achilles pain, agravated by the Vibrams. Because the 5s have no heel elevation, they stretch the achilles more than 'normal' shoes. Right now I cannot spend a lot of time in them until I get past the achilles problem.

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers Classic Multisport Shoes - Men's:
I've been wearing my Classics about 8 months now and I love them. I started out running and going to the gym with the on, but now I wear them nearly everywhere. Being an infantry Marine, I've done considerable damage to my back and knees from running with boots and heavy weight. These shoes have helped ease that pain. The attention these shoes draw may be a negative thing for some people, I love explaining the principles of being nearly barefoot. These are great way to protect your feet, while getting most of the benefits of being barefoot.

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers Classic Multisport Shoes - Men's:
I jumped on the 'barefoot' phenomenon with gusto and like all things I tend to not take the moderate course. My first barefoot run was 8.5 miles in a hilly terrain, and have since logged some decently long runs in Vibram's. End result after three months of this activity...a right, then a left strained lower calf/achilles. I absolutely prefer running barefoot/minimalist but for me I should have listened when people said to slowly build up the miles. I am a person who never gets injured and have been active in sports my whole life. Yet here I am frustrated beyond belief with these now persistent and nagging injuries. I am back to regular running shoes for awhile. Build up the miles is my advice.

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers Classic Multisport Shoes - Men's:
I was a little shocked at how comfortable these are. At first I thought it was just a fancy over priced sandal, but they have proved me wrong. After wearing sandals or regular shoes all day the first thing I want to do is just kick them off when I get home, but not these. It really does feel like you're walking around barefoot all day, but with out the dirty feet and things hurting when you step on them. I also like fact that you can just put them in the washer, which makes it easy to clean. Buy them, they are worth the money.

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers Classic Multisport Shoes - Men's:
I love these. I originally bought them for rock climbing in a local gym because they would not let me climb barefoot. They work great, however if you are going to use them for climbing, or bouldering be ready for a challenge. To me any climbing with climbing shoes is aided climbing, due to you not being able to complete the route/problem with out them. I do also have a pair of climbing shoes to use on really difficult climbs. I switch between them to build strength and better technique. When climbing in them you can feel everything, which could be good or bad, but I love it. I feel so much more aware of the wall, my body, and how the two connect. This is difficult to describe, but think of walking or climbing, or running in a very large heavy stiff boot, then think about the same activity in a very light comfortable pair of shoes. That is the best way to describe what it is like going from "normal" shoes to the FiveFingers Classic. They do take a small amount of time to get used to, but not too long. I would recommend that you think about how you would approach any activity while barefoot when you wear these, because that is how it will feel, minus the cuts, blisters, etc. that you would actually get when barefoot. I have also worn them while running, same great shoe. You will need to run a bit differently, but it will be much better on your body then how you run in normal shoes. I would suggest you do a little research on Barefoot running, before just picking up a pair and heading out. There are also a few helpful videos on YouTube. I have also tried running barefoot. I went for about 20 min, and ended up with blisters on the balls of my feet. The FiveFingers let you avoid this, by providing the perfect amount of protection, without loosing any feel. Fantastic. I took them on a very short family hike to a creek. Worked great, but I did get a bit of sand in them. For this reason I will definitely get a pair of KSOs. Used them in the water, great again. Dried quickly, the only complaint a bit of sand. What do I not love about these amazing shoes? Not much, a few very small minor gripes. 1. Getting the fit right. This took some time. Go to a store, try them on, walk around. Try different sizes out see how they feel. It will feel kinda weird, and different. The first time I did this(before REI carried them), it was a strange experience. I couldn't find anything that seemed to fit right. I wear around a 10.5 US, depending on the shoe. When I didn't find one that felt right, I gave up on the idea. When I found out REI was carring them, I thought I would give them another shot. I was thinking that I would get a pair that felt a little big, and wear some of the toe socks to fill in the tiny void for a perfect fit. To my surprise I found a pair(size 41) that was nice and snug, and comfy. And I knew if for some reason, they didn't work out, I could take'em back[...].2. The elastic pull tab. There is a pull tab on the top of the heal/achilles area to tighten the shoe down. I don't ever use it, as it fits so great. The tab has gotten in the way like 2-3 times, really really minor. I thought about removing it, but have not. That's it. These are great. I am planning on getting the other styles for UL backpacking, trail running, and a pair for water, and another to just wear around. I am very pleased, and love these shoes.

i bought these three years ago and have since amassed a good collection. the first time you wear them they feel odd, but the more you wear them the less you realize you have something on your feet. after a while your feet become stronger and going 'barefoot' is desirable. this style i use for casual wear, running, walking, gardening, etc.

Took them whitewater rafting and almost lost them to the river gods. I don't advise using them if you plan to charge class three rapids and your raft flips. The heal cup slipped and it took some strong toe clamping to keep the current from taking them. On the upside they are wonderful for walking on the trails and on the river bank. I wore them for three and they survived the adventures of the South Fork, American River. I recommend getting the Vibram FiveFingers Sprint multi-sport or the KSO multi-sport.

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers Classic Multisport Shoes - Men's:
I bought these when they first came out and they felt great in the store but was worried because my second toe is longer than my big toe (Morton's Toe) and that's not the way these are designed. I ran in them for a couple of months including a local 5k. I also wore them casually quite often. However, the longer I wore them the more uncomfortable they became as the second toe was always compressed. Now they're sitting in the bottom of the closet and I'll be looking at the minimalist/barefoot shoes that are out now. I'm disappointed because I desperately wanted these to work.
So, if you have "regular" toes, go for it I'd recommend them. If not, look elsewhere until there's a Vibram Morton.

I haven't had my Five Fingers very long, but they are the greatest thing since sliced bread! I am not a runner, but have found these shoes to be great slip on and go. I purchased the men's style since they were a bit wider [...] I love the fact you can just throw them in the wash too! I plan on trying another pair maybe with a strap. They will get a true test when I hit up Six Flags! See if I have any plantar fasciitis flare ups. :)
