I just installed the xsporter on my 2001 F150 Supercrew and hate the idea that I might have to return it due to the wind noise. The rack comes with rubber track inserts that I believe are supposed to help with this which is fine if you never move the loadstops on the track. However, I plan to be move these around to accommodate carrying a variety of items. Does Thule expect one to cut and place a bunch of small strips into the track every time you move the load stops?

This rack system is not cheap so if anyone (including a Thule rep) has any ideas I am all ears. The quality of the rack is awesome but I can't justify $500+ for a rack that makes this much wind noise.

I purchased this with one use in mind, to carry my ARB rooftop tent (RTT). It was strong, yet lightweight due to the all aluminum construction. The Thule rack is adjustable to 5 different heights. It sits below my roofline and, with the help of a friend, will raise up to a useful height. There is no noticeable wind noise, especially after I used the weatherstripping in all of the open cross-rail slots. Get it delivered to the store and there's no freight fees. It's an awesome rack that can be used to carry anything under a 500 lb (dynamic) load rating.

I installed the Xsporter with noproblems at all. It does help to have a second person to help adjust the racks. There is some wind noise if the rack is above the top of the cab, but the rack can be lowered below the cab and there is no wind noise at all. The only downside I see is that when the rack is lowered, the rack may block some vision out the back window. Otherwise, this is a great rack.
