Hydroformed 6061 aluminum frame is built both for speed and great handling while taking on new trails and cross-country loops
RST Capa C7 suspension fork provides 50mm of travel and is paired with A-Pro SD rear shock to deliver excellent full-suspension performance for budding riders
21 speeds handle everything from steep climbs to long descents to flat sprints with ease

After its initial break-in period you might notice your bicycle performing less responsively than the day you brought it home. Not to worry, this is typical of all new bicycles and simply reflects that cables have stretched or their housings have seated themselves into final position. To keep running at peak performance, all REI bicycles come with a FREE warranty tune-up, which should be accomplished between the first 100-200 miles of riding or after the first two months if you're accumulating miles less quickly. Comments about Scott Spark Junior 24" Kids' Bike - 2010:

Moving up from a Specialized Hot Rock 24", this sweet bike immediately took my 10 year old's mountain biking to the next level. Almost ten pounds lighter than the Specialized, the climbing difference was extreme; over and over he said "I can't BELIEVE this!" and "I feel like a real mountain biker!" And he was: I'm pretty good, and he can pretty much match my speed (we're taliking 15-25 MPH downhill over medium terrain, like Hall Ranch, Lyons, CO). He's about 60 lbs, 54" high. Ought to get a couple of good years out of it. I'm amazed when I look at the prices and reviews of other Scott Spark models; this one is offered at a ridiculous price, considering this little bike is a near-identical design. I couldn't be more satisfied. Thanks, Scott, for remembering the little guys and their dads.
