With new geometry and plenty of carbon, the Scott CR1 Comp Compact road bike delivers speedy performance and offers comfort-oriented features for long training and recreational rides.

  • CR1 carbon frame is oriented toward performance as well as comfort, combining low weight, lateral stiffness and more-accommodating top and head tube lengths
  • The result of the frame design is a performance-bred ride that handles and rides comfortably—not quite a pure racing machine, but close
  • All-carbon fork, chainstays and seatstays feature Scott's Shock Dampening System (SDS) to absorb road vibration, helping reduce fatigue and conserve energy
  • Shimano 105 rear derailleur and Tiagra shifters give you fingertip control of the 18-speed compact drivetrain
  • Shimano Tiagra dual pivot brakes provide dependable deceleration
  • Lightweight Shimano wheels and Continental Ultra Race tires minimize rolling resistance to convert your power into speed

After its initial break-in period you might notice your bicycle performing less responsively than the day you brought it home. Not to worry, this is typical of all new bicycles and simply reflects that cables have stretched or their housings have seated themselves into final position. To keep running at peak performance, all REI bicycles come with a FREE warranty tune-up, which should be accomplished between the first 100-200 miles of riding or after the first two months if you're accumulating miles less quickly.
