Comments about NEMO Meta 2P Tent:
I've used this tent on three trips so far.
Setup is incredibly easy and materials are high quality. Comes with eight v-shaped lightweight stakes, and all stake points are fully equipped w/ tensioning gear which makes it quick to set up and and then fine tune afterward.
Because you're staked in at eight points this tent is incredibly sturdy, and the shape sheds rain, wind, and snow without too much noise.
Ventilation flaps on the walls of the tent can be cinched down in stormy weather or let out for improved circulation.
Once tensioned, the poles that support the peak of the vestibule lean out about half a foot from the door, so there are no issues with dripping into the tent or with cooking in the vestibule in normal (not windblown) rain.
So far, this tent has outperformed any single-wall tent I've ever seen in the area of condensation.
Very comfortable inside as well, with plenty of room for gear in the vestibules and even in the tent with two people.

Comments about NEMO Meta 2P Tent:
UPDATE:
I reviewed this tent earlier, but wanted to add video showing how severely this tent collects condensation during inclement weather. You can hear my wife in the videos asking me to put our soaked camp towels outside while telling me our sleeping bags were getting wet.
After two hours of rain, we were weary of mopping the massive pools of water collecting on the floor from all of the dripping and spraying from the condensation on the inside walls of our new Meta 2P. The rain finally eased up and we decided to try to get some sleep. Still, by morning, our down bags were soaked, so we packed up wet and went home early to dry everything out.
Other than this (major) problem, the tent is extremely well designed. We had high hopes for the Meta 2P and were sad to have to have to get rid of it. We aren't sure how Nemo can improve on the design of this tent to avoid condensation, but we wish they would so we could buy another one without the problem.

Comments about NEMO Meta 2P Tent:
I was really excited to get this tent but disappointed in it with regards to condensation. My son and I used it for 5 nights in Yellowstone in all types of weather (rain, hail, wind, nice, cold). The one huge complaint I have is the massive condensation that rains on you in the morning. You can't sit up without brushing your head on it and all the condensation pours down on you. Pretty much everything inside the tent was soaked from this every morning. Didn't matter if we kept the vestibule open or not. It always rained in the tent from the condensation. It is really a bummer since other than that the tent was great. Very easy and fast to setup and tear down even in the rain. Not much lighter than my Big Angus SL2 so I think I'll return it.

Comments about NEMO Meta 2P Tent:
I bought and used this tent on a recent trip in colorado. 4 days with the family backpacking up around the headwaters of cross creek..
I liked the set up, and I liked how much space/vestibule space the tent had.
And I am familiar with other single wall tents condensation woes...
However, this tent has been toutes as well ventilated and incredibly dry...
It was well above freezing (low 40s)... and this thing condensed formed so much water on the inside walls that there was a mild rain shower in the tent. Bags soaked, clothes soaked. I got cold at 45 degrees in a marmot sub zero down bag....
This can be fixed (sort of) on non-rainy nights by opening up the vestibules fully.
By comparison, It was about as bad as a black diamond megamid in the snow... maybe a little worse, as there's no way to direct the dripping away from your face.
Definite satisfaction return.
It did hold up nicely on my walking sticks in a howler one night.
I was sprayed with water... but it did hold up.

Comments about NEMO Meta 2P Tent:
This is a great tent if you have pretty good weather. It is super light and super easy to set up, for the most part very well designed. However....we were hit with 50mph winds with 75mph gusts above treeline one night which blew out a vestibule stake and collapsed the tent. 1) the vestibule stake goes into a rigid O ring. This is the first design flaw -- a good yank like a 75mph gust and the stake pulls out (the rest of the stakes go into rope loops which can be secured much more reliably); 2) because we had some condensation/ice build up the night before we left the vestibule door open. As that lovely 75mph gust came through, the tent turned into a kite. It collected the wind and blew the stake. So we will be returning the tent. We moved to a seemingly more sheltered location (but there really was no getting out of that wind, the same winds that started the Boulder CO fires BTW) and put rocks on all the stakes. One other downside in the wind is that if you are fully stretched out your head is "in the eaves". With the wind, the tent drums on your head. I would recommend this tent with clear qualifications.

Comments about NEMO Meta 2P Tent:
I was blown away at the quality of materials, bomb proof construction, layout, and the included gear with this tent. I am extremely pleased.
List of cool stuff:
Size is about (2) Foster lager cans
Weight of unopened package 3lbs 9oz - includes tent, (8) stakes, guy wires, compression sack AND really great instructions
Waterproof, super high quality compression sack included
(8) stakes with reflective cord
All guy lines are reflective
Great ventilation
Super big for a 2 person, like most companies "3" person (quit lying to us!)
Foot print is high quality also
Vestibules are massive and there are 2 that are the same size!!
2 easy zip doors
Wow... what a great product
List of uncool stuff:
Big foot print - This is a single wall, hiking pole design, therefore you must stake out the tent at all points every time you set it up.
That means that it is NOT freestanding in any way. You need a tension line from each hiking pole peak to the ground - that tension line is the vestibule attached to a staked length of webbing that runs back to the base of the pole. When setting the tent up in the house I used duct tape to "stake" out the tent - not so super hehe. Anywho, no big deal. I am so thrilled with the construction, size and weight, I don't really care.
I bought this to replace a Sierra Designs Lightning 2 (2004 model I believe) and I couldn't be happier.
Now if NEMO can get their act together and get these produced, they will make some more green (btw, the color of the tent is pretty sweet too).

Comments about NEMO Meta 2P Tent:
I truly felt like I was twenty thousand leagues under the sea when in fact I was at 9k above sea level. This tent had so much condensation that I thought it rained over night and would be wet outside, it wasn't. The design is great for the most part and the tent itself is pretty roomy. But the vents are a total gimmick. Also keep in mind I am in the high desert and there was no precipitation during my trip to cause this issue. I will be returning the Meta 2 to REI ASAP.

Comments about NEMO Meta 2P Tent:
This tent is exactly what Backpacker Magazine says it is. Lightweight, super durable in high wind, easy to set up, big vestibules, dual side entry and comfortable. For those posts about condensation issues, I'll recommend that you OPEN THE VENTS! Upon delivery the side vents were closed and yes, I experienced condensation the first time I put it up because I did not realize the vents were closed. I was in the Carolinas camping in July with 90 degree weather and 90% humidity. With closed vents...duh, we got condensation. But truth be told single walls are never good in high humidity summer weather. Get the right expectations or get another tent.
Be sure to open the side vents and if the weather is humid, open the vestibule doors. This is a single wall ultralight tent. Expectations should align with the tent class.
I'm 6'2" and sleeping comfortably in the Meta 2P is no problem, even with a tent mate. I sleep on a 72" Big Agnes pad. Two fit side by side with room to spare. Plenty of length and extra room for a gear bag (not backpack). Height IS limited so don't expect the roominess of a 3 man free-standing tent.
Super durable in wind. No rain issues at all. Easy to set up (follow the instructions the first time or you will goof it up) for one person. Yep, one guy can set this up alone, despite the trekking pole design. Only recommendation for Nemo would be not to stitch the side vents like they did. For some reason there are stitches on the side vents every 5 inches or so--makes no sense. I'll probably remove them.
OVERALL: Great tent for backpacking. Not for car campers or those seeking roomy comfort. I really like it. Top shelf.

Comments about NEMO Meta 2P Tent:
Nemo is so close to having a great tent, but has missed the mark on two important points; My son and I took the Meta2P to the High Sierra's this weekend and were dissapointed. We are both 6ft tall and weigh about 185 lbs. The tent suffers from lack of ventilation which caused significant condensation on the interior of the tent which got both our sleeping bags wet (this with all vents and rain fly wide open all night).
The other issue is that while the tent base seems large, the angle of the sides make it actually much shorter (thus the wet sleeping bag toes).
The tent is easy to set up, light weight and did well in the rain. If Nemo will add 8 inch vertical sides on each end and re-work the ventilation at the top of the tent then they have a winner, but until they fix it I would pass.
