As of this writing only the XXL is in stock. This size is both too short in the inseam and too wide at the waist for me. It seems to be cut for someone with a 40 inch waist and a 28-30 inch inseam. Has a nice feel to the fabric, though a bit heavy.

This is one pretty warm piece of long fleece underwear. Could be a little uncomfortable with no fly.... Probably why everyone is so warm when using it for cold weather activities.

They don't have a fly! Dumb, dumb, dumb. Just totally impractical.
Fit is fine. Material is very nice. Appear to be very durable and would be great - if they just had a fly.

I used these pants on a snow camping trip this last weekend. They worked great for sleeping in, they are too warm to wear while doing anything physical though. a great base layer for cold weather for a good price. the overall fit was a bit snug for my liking but since it is a base layer i guess that is to be expected. The fleece felt kinda weird to the touch, but i haven't had too many of these so that part could be normal.

Polypro is the BEST for long days outdoors in the cold when your activity level can go from high to low; it manages sweat better than wool or silk. These are heavy and well suited to long hours sitting in marked cold (10 F)as in our northern PA deer season. I don't think I'd need them for walking or skiing. My first polypro long underwear was REI and still is great 15 years later. BUT I had to return these updates: the pants have no front vent. Kept the top with quarter zip mock T, the best for cooling down after a long hill climb. These pants might be Ok near a ski lodge with heated bathroom (though if you're active, you may not need expedition weight) but not on a day half a mile or more away from the road, and certainly not on a winter campout with my son's Boy Scout troop. Pay a little more for a product designed by someone who understands that sometimes you want to go to the bathroom with your pants up. This simpler design probably cut production cost and our price, but I was surprised and disappointed when these arrived. The material is very nice, and if you can live without a vent, you'll probably be very happy with them (and save $$). Sadly, I had to return these and look elsewhere than REI. Knowing I'll spend many days per winter in them for several years, I'd rather pay more and get what I want. I'd suggest the ad photo should show the front of the pants look like jammies, rather than the folded view we see, or at least mention in the ad copy that they lack a front vent. Customers would then know what they were buying. My first disappointment with any of your gear. A great price, and I realize a feature many may not care about.

i am a bike messenger in chicago and these go on as my base layer every day in the winter. most days i just throw a pair of jeans over them and wear a good shell with a long sleeve shirt and i can be out delivering all day and be warm and comfortable. i am rough on things and i still have 2 pairs from last winter that are still in great shape.
