Comments about Vasque Juxt Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
These are very comfortable shoes for my picky feet. I do a lot of day hiking - probably 30 miles a week. I have been using these as my mainstay shoes for a year.
I find the traction to be excellent. The sole seems to last quite well. Not sure why one reviewer found the soles wearing out so quick.
But all of my juxt shoes are falling apart. The fabric they used to line the shoes is junk. I've had no issues with other brands like keen or lowa but these juxt shoes develop major holes in the heel area in no time.
I contacted vasque (red wing shoes actually???) and gave them photos showing the lining damage on many pairs, and how little the soles were worn (ie they were not shoes that were walked to death). They said "normal wear and tear" and forget the warranty. They don't care. They expect the shoe to last a month or two, it seems. Do you? I don't.

Comments about Vasque Juxt Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
These shoes were great for a month or two, until they started to wear out like shoes from payless. I really liked the look and the fit of them when I first got them. The laces allow you to customize the fit for thinner or slightly wider feet, or if you want to cinch them down so you don't pack your toes on the downhill. The tread however wore out very quickly. These shoes are very slippery on polished and wet rocks. After a couple months the stitching that holds the seams together began to spread apart, and a hole was easily ripped in the material on a short day hike. I think these are great shoes to wear around town or for a walk in the park, but if you plan to put them through the ringer like I did, get something that will give you more for your money.

Comments about Vasque Juxt Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I was looking for a light and inexpensive replacement for some worn out Montrail CTCs. Good choice. These Vasques have almost 200 miles of backpacking miles on them as well as the countless around town miles. I feel like it's time to replace them, but they're still in great shape. Only two complaints. Too wide for my foot, so i have to tighten laces ALL the way down. And I experienced a few hot spots on my left heel during break in period. Operator error maybe? Not at all waterproof, but hey, they don't claim to be.

Right out of the box these shoes are extremely comfortable. I've owned my pair for 3 months now and so far so good. These shoes are great for everyday use, walking, light hiking and maybe some trail running. I wore them fishing last week in the rain for 4 hours and my feet were dry so they seem to be pretty waterproof. I wouldn't go submerging them in a puddle or anything.

Comments about Vasque Juxt Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I got these shoes with the Vasque waterproof lining (ultradry) which I would highly recommend over the standard version. The shoes seems durable enough for a light hiker and definitely stylish enough for a day to day shoe.
However, my hangup like other people's is the poor outsole. Vasque brand uses Vibram but chose not to for this product which was a huge mistake. The sole they chose has poor traction and lacks durability. This reduces this shoe almost to just a in-town only shoe. That one improvement would make this a excellent buy rather than just a good one.

Bought shoe after research on Internet. Wanted something for mild hiking and out door retirement travel. Bought in great little store in Arcata, CA, Adventure's Edge. The shoe was awesome out of the box. I have size 15 and my foot is wide and recent ankle tendon surgery, so the when the fit was perfect and it felt so awesome, I wore for a day and was very, very happy, plus the sale Win Win. First time with Vasque, have had Merral, Rockport (from old) and Wolverine, all good this is just as good.

Comfortable and stylish; have held up good since purchasing in January(?); they feel a little warm, so I am worried that they may be too hot come summer, but so far, so good.

I was pretty excited when I found these, nice and comfortable, good traction. Can wear in the office or out on the trail and they have pretty good traction the problem is within 6 months they just looked trashed with moderate use. Toe-box area got a hole and the material faded and just looked really bad. If they could improve the durability of this shoe it would be pretty sweet. However I need shoes that last longer than six months..

Comments about Vasque Juxt Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
Wonderful fit and comfortable for hours -- great shoe construction. My foot runs about a "C" width, so I'm medium, maybe a tad on the narrow side of that.
The only issue I have is with traction, particularly on smooth polished rock on mountain trails -- the traction's just not there. On less demanding woodland trails, they're a winner.

I loved the look of these so thought I'd give them a try - I was pleased at first, but I've only had these 6 months and the sole on the heel has worn through to the softer underlayer and the outside toebox is ripped. Short lived. Shoulda got something with Vibram soles....
