Comments about Cannondale Quick CX Rigid Bike - 2010:
Primarily a flat-bar road bike that is a great alternative to, and more versatile than, a traditional drop bar bike. My first bike of this type (my others are steel-frame road bikes) and it has become a favorite in spite of the relative harshness of the aluminum frame. I added clip-ons, fenders, a longer stem, and some bar-ends, and it's ideal for the type of riding it's made for.

Comments about Cannondale Quick CX Rigid Bike - 2010:
I bought this bike less than 2 weeks ago and am absolutely in LOVE with it!! I test-rode a bunch of different bikes (Giant Transend, Cannondale Quick4, Giant Rapide, Marin Fairfax, etc.) before finding this one. For starters, it is a GREAT-LOOKING bike. I don't have many miles on it, but I can already tell it is going to last for a long time. The brakes stop the bike incredibly fast and the seat is surprisingly comfy. I did add a set of Planet Bike fenders and rear rack as well as lights and a bell. I was a little nervous about buying an aluminum frame because they are notorious for riding a bit harsh - not so on this bike. They claim that it uses "S.A.V.E." technology to smooth out the ride and I can honestly say it actually works. Please note that the CX is the only Cannondale Quick with this feature. The Quick 4 does not have it and it rides very rough compared to the CX. The only drawback I have found is that it does not accommodate a standard kickstand since the fender bolt takes up a lot of space. All in all, you will be very happy with this bike. Stop looking, pull the trigger - and start riding this bike rather than keep searching for one!!
Service and delivery comments:
Techs at REI were great. They installed my bike computer, fenders, and rear rack free of charge and in a timely fashion. The accessories were all installed to perfection as was the final bike assembly. Would highly recommend REI as a great bike store.

Comments about Cannondale Quick CX Rigid Bike - 2010:
I bought this bike in April 2010 to use on a 5 1/2 mile each way commute in the Boston area. So far, the bike has performed just as I hoped. I live on top of a reasonably steep hill, so the disk brakes are nice to have in the morning while the low gearing is really appreciated on the way home. The bike feels nimble and handles well -- it's fun to ride. And one shouldn't discount the coolness factor -- this bike looks good.

Comments about Cannondale Quick CX Rigid Bike - 2010:
I haven't commuted for by bicycle for the last two years but I wanted to get back into it and needed something shiny and new to get me motivated. My commute is only seven miles but it's hilly, curvy and bumpy and this bike handles it all really well. The aluminum frame is a bit jarring on some of the bumps but it's almost not worth mentioning it is so minor. The CX looks great, is a joy to ride, stops on a dime, isn't too heavy and is very sturdy. Great bike.

Comments about Cannondale Quick CX Rigid Bike - 2010:
Great for my commute, recreation and all around transport. I highly recommend the front suspension model, this rigid frame and thin profile tire combination constantly remind you that although the frame and look may seem a little of road capable, the bike is not well suited for any unpaved terrain. For a commuter/paved road bike, it's great, fast and smooth just avoid any bumps.

Comments about Cannondale Quick CX Rigid Bike - 2010:
I've been away from bike riding for about ten years. Being stuck in the office everyday motivated me to do a little research to get outside this year with more frequency. The Cannondale Quick CX Rigid had everything I was looking for: great sturdy frame (absorbs vibration), disc brakes, good stock saddle, 700c wheels/tires. It handles great on light dirt trails and pavement. [...] The bike mechanic at REI added bar ends by Titec, Shimano clipless pedals, and a Catseye Velo 8 bike computer with no added labor charges the same night I purchased this bike and the components. [...] First test ride was around Kenmore with plenty of hills. The gears made quick work of the uphill battles along with the aftermarket clipless pedals I had REI install. Second test ride was a half hour ride on Burke-Gilman trail on a rare sunny Saturday last weekend. Brake response was instant when applied rapidly. The bike went off sidewalk curbs effortlessly and up them without issues. Mounting and dismounting the bike frame is easy. Overall ride was extremely comfortable.Third test ride was on Burke-Gilman to Sammish trial tonight after work about an hour before sunset. I rode for a total of 40 plus minutes with zero cramps and it made for a great workout. My glutes were not sore with the stock saddle and non-bike shorts. My back, shoulders, wrists had no fatigue.I'm looking for reasons to ride this bike more, but the weather has been hit and miss. Winter storm front is due to hit this weekend :(This bike is a keeper, I love it! It looks sharp and the ride quality is great.
