Comments about Cannondale CAAD8 6 Bike - 2010:
I recently decided I wanted to get a road bike for recreation/exercise use. I wanted to get drop bar road bike as opposed to a hybrid because I wanted to be able to lean over and get more aerodynamic if I felt like going fast. Also, being in the Bay Area and having lots of good climbing trails around, I wanted a bike that was up to the challenge (if I got to the point where I was).
I've put a few hundred miles on the bike on mostly flat terrain with a few hills here and there, and the triple crank option certainly helps for the steep inclines or just when you're wiped out and you've got a hill standing between you and home. Bike is comfortable, handles well, gears shift well. Can't complain about anything except the standard grip tape, which is white and seems to attract dirt. Easy and fairly cheap thing to replace though once it gets too dirty.
This is a great bike for someone who wants to get into road cycling. The geometry is somewhere between the racing and touring style bikes, so you can be relaxed or aerodynamic if you want. The price wasn't too hard to swallow either.

Being an avid cyclist back in my 20's and 30's and now retired in my 60's this bike fulfill my needs to enjoy the casual, recreational execising rides.
I just completed my first month and 300 miles of owning the bike, the more I ride it the more I like it...This bike model CAAD8-6 ROCKS!! Love everything, quality, components, handeling and very rasonable pricing.

Comments about Cannondale CAAD8 6 Bike - 2010:
I've been riding a Trek Hybrid for 3+ years (which I loved). I wanted a little more speed and handling for flat road ridding so I started looking at road bikes. I'm a corporate purchasing manager so I'm about cost and value. I found that the comparable Trek road bike was priced $500+ more than Cannondale for the same features (class of components, size, weight, performance). I also found I liked the geometries of the Cannondale better. Although it's still a road bike it has a slightly (again slightly) more upright riding position as opposed to a full downward tilt angle of the Treks I tried. For me it's much more comfortable. [...] The only downside is that the white handlebar tape pretty much got dirty the first time I rode it. Other than that it's a fantastic bike. Very comfortable and fast. Could I spend a lot more money, sure but I don't know that the extra 1 to 2 pounds would save me especially when the rider needs to lose 50.Summary, Love the bike, comfortable, fast, good handling and a great value.

Comments about Cannondale CAAD8 6 Bike - 2010:
This turned out to be a great bike. I've been an avid bike commuter and wanted to get into long organized rides. I have put ~150 miles on it since the new year and this is an absolutely solid, responsive and comfortable bike to ride. Great value for the money.

Comments about Cannondale CAAD8 6 Bike - 2010:
I did 200 miles on this within 2 weeks and I am simply amazed by the comfort and responsiveness of the frame. Components are also high-quality. The chain went off twice and there are some gear shift problems once in a while but overall drive is really comfortable. Very responsive in climbs too.

Comments about Cannondale CAAD8 6 Bike - 2010:
I bought this bike in February 2010 and made a serious upgrade from an old steel frame diamond back commuter bike and the difference in performance was obvious immediately! Since having the bike for over a year now i've put hundreds of miles on it and completed a few century rides as well. The bike is very responsive to acceleration and and feels very sturdy as my old diamond back did was which makes me feel confident in it's performance as i weigh 200lbs. The negatives that i've learned about this bike thus far is that the components could be better ie: the derailleurs and not full carbon frame. If that's what excites you then pay the extra $500-$1000 to get the shimano 105's and a full carbon frame road bike. Also, the shifting could be smoother and after some of my long rides the components started to squeak especially the drive train. Oil and tune up fixed those issues but other than that it has been a great experience for my first entry level drop bar road bike!
