The Cannondale F4 hardtail mountain bike features a Shimano Deore drivetrain, 100mm RST suspension fork and a responsive frame for a blissed-out ride up, down and across your favorite trails.

T6061 aluminum Trail SL frame features double-butted tubes and an oversized headtube and headset for improved strength, stiffness and overall handling performance
RST Deuce 1.5 Air suspension fork features 100mm of travel to soak up hard hits; lockout is easy to access on the go and rebound adjustment lets you customize performance
Shimano Deore derailleurs perform smoothly as you shift through the full 27-speed drivetrain with the snappy Deore trigger shifters
Tektro Auriga Comp hydraulic disc brakes deliver excellent stopping power with 160mm rotors
Maddux DC3.0 double-walled rims are laced onto Shimano M475 hubs to keep you rolling smoothly; Kenda Nevegal tires take care of traction

After its initial break-in period you might notice your bicycle performing less responsively than the day you brought it home. Not to worry, this is typical of all new bicycles and simply reflects that cables have stretched or their housings have seated themselves into final position. To keep running at peak performance, all REI bicycles come with a FREE warranty tune-up, which should be accomplished between the first 100-200 miles of riding or after the first two months if you're accumulating miles less quickly. Contact your nearest REI bike shop for details and an appointment for this important service.

As an avid trail rider, I have found this bike perfect right off the showroom floor - except for the pedals. I put some Shimano PD-M540's on it and have been tearing up the trails every since!!!

Service and delivery comments:

In my opinion, REI is the only place to purchase all recrational equipment. I special ordered this bike before it was officially in the catalog and was on the trails within two weeks. (I was rained out for half a week); And, as a REI member, I'll get a check next year for 10% of all my purchases this year. Plus, bicycles come with a free tune-up and great service is available always!!!

This bike is great for trail riding but I have to agree that the pedals are horrible. Plastic for one of the most important part of the bike was not the best idea. But just get some new pedals and you have yourself an amazing bike. I use this on the trails of Okinawa Japan and have enjoyed every minute I am on this thing.
