The sizing on these shoes are off. I wear a 9-9.5 which according to the sizing chart would be a 41 (which is also the typical european size I wear) and they were a full size too small. Tried to get the 42 but they have been out of stock.

I primarily ride a road bike. I finally made the switch to clipless pedals, and I investigated a lot before I bought these shoes. I decided to go w/ mtn bike shoes since I use my bike for everything from errands to races. That way, I can walk in them when I need to (vs. slippery road bike soles). The first day I used these was for a race, and I had to walk around in them the rest of the day but didn't even get a blister. Some people recommended the ratcheting closure, but I found that the velcro closure was enough for me to get a good fit (ratchet raises the price $15-$25 I noticed). I also tried a couple Sidi shoes at first, but these Pearl Izumis gave me a better fit and comfort for a lower price. I have a mountain bike too and I expect to be able to use them for that as well. They are breathable and though I usually don't care about color, it's very nice that they're black so they don't show all the dirt like the white Sidis. Also sizing: could've maybe gotten away w/ a size down, but I'm glad they didn't have it in stock b/c the next size up left my toes room in length and width, while I can still get the right fit by pulling the velcro tight. Haven't noticed anything I don't like about them yet, and I've been using them everyday for a month straight, including a couple races.

These are my first real cycling shoes. I have pretty wide feet which are hard to fit, and these are perfect. The closures are easy to use and stay put. The sole is rugged and it was simple to install my cleats. My only complaint is that there is not much padding in the toe box, which sometimes makes my toes hurt; but thicker socks make it better.

Great performance at a recreational price. The sole is stiff, and the shoe breathes well. Great for mountain biking, but I would consider using it on my road bike too. It's true that the size runs small. I usually wear a 36, but I wear a 37 in these. My only complaint is that the velcro on mine is starting to give out and lose it's stick.

Nice looking MTB shoe, but the sizing is way too small! I ordered a 42 (size 10) and my toes were smashed up against the toe box. My other PI cycling shoes are a 41, so I thought these would be a little more roomy! Returning these and ordering a completely different pair.
