Comments about Zamberlan Civetta GT Hiking Boots - Women's:
Let me start off by saying wow. I have flat feet and this can be a major disadvantage when hiking; sometimes it almost feels like a death sentence. I have been rocking Merrel Chamelions for the past couple years and there is no comparison. These boots have amazing support. I was apprehensive about spending the money but I don't think I can ever wear a different pair of shoes; even when I'm not backpacking. Get yourself a pair of Zamberlans immediately.

Comments about Zamberlan Civetta GT Hiking Boots - Women's:
Don't let the negative reviews dissuade you from trying this boot. They reflect a bad FIT, not a bad BOOT. This is the first hiking boot I've ever had that fit me right (wide forefoot, high arch & instep, narrow heal) -- and I've been backpacking regularly for 40 years. If you have duck feet like mine, try it. It's NOT a heavy boot for it's intended use. In fact, the Civetta is lighter than many "light hikers" on the market, and has enough support for long pack trips with a heavy pack. It's even beefy enough for New England trails. I bought three pairs so that I'll never have to worry about finding the right hiking boot again!

These shoes are amazing. I have owned a pair for several years and they have never failed me. They are not as comfortable as tennis shoes - but the durability and lateral stiffness of the boot cannot compare. I recommend these to everyone.
Good shank lets you cut straight up hills and performs well in snowy conditions. GT liner still works after years. Leather is still good and the sole remains firmly attached to the boot.

Comments about Zamberlan Civetta GT Hiking Boots - Women's:
I'm a guy but I was shopping the sale add and ran across this boot for women. I have owned five pair of these boots over the years and LOVE them. I must agree with the poster who says the negative reviews here reflect bad fit, NOT a bad boot. Some fits can be tweeked with the use of 'Superfeet' or similar product, different socks, etc. but the bottom line is if the boot does not fit *your* foot properly NO amount of break in or tweeking is going to help.
NO, this boot is NOT a tennis shoe and is a little heavy. I put it in the high end of 'medium weight' or the low end of 'heavy' boots I have worn. I laugh when some of these posters complain about the weight when it is obvious from the picture this is NOT a slipper. I wore them both to work every day and for backpacking adventures. They provide excellent support and good traction even in wet weather. I have sweaty feet and any GoreTex boot is warm in summer for me, YMMV.
If they fit your feet properly you could take them out of the box & go for a fifty miler, no problem. (NO I do not recommend trying this until you are positive this boot fits your foot!!)
Unfortunately my foot has started to spread out lately and these boots no longer fit my foot. I am currently in search of a better fit and am trying an Asolo to see if it works for me. That said, I would not hesitate to recommend this boot if you are looking for a warm, dry, supportive ~if somewhat heavy~ hiker.

Comments about Zamberlan Civetta GT Hiking Boots - Women's:
My pair are around 8yrs. old. I wore these out of the box on a 4day backpacking trip on the AT in NC. They may be stiff and heavy and take a while to break in but I never got a blister that whole 4day trip. My feet never hurt after wearing them all day long. If you are carring a heavy pack these boot have the support and you will never slip on the trail. These are one of the best made boots you can buy on the market. If this style does not work for you I would recommend one of there other styles because you can't beat the craftmanship.

Comments about Zamberlan Civetta GT Hiking Boots - Women's:
I bought these because I had the Zamberlan 310 skill previously and loved them for the fit, comfort, and durability. The only thing was that I wanted a higher ankle support, so I got the Civetta. So far I am not impressed. The fit is larger, the boot is bulky and heavy feeling. I would say its passable, but not as good as the 310 Skill in terms of fit and comfort. Plus it costs more! I'm still breaking the boots in with day hikes, so haven't been on backcountry trips yet. Hopefully the heavier weight will pay off with support and stability.Just for reference, my favorite boot has been the REI Spirit III. [...]

Comments about Zamberlan Civetta GT Hiking Boots - Women's:
I got these boot to replace my worn out old Monarchs. I ususally hike regularly and decided to train for a Rainier climb. My feet cramped badly the first time I used them so tried lacing differently. After some use (I use custom orthodics) my left arch was killing me. I talked to the sales people at REI and started switching around foot beds. After another few hikes and more hurting feet, I had to give up and return them. I'm so thankful for REI taking them back, as I had worn them for a while, but I REALLY tried to make them work and need to get out there conditioning for the climb. Bought some Asolo boots. Hope they work !!!

After buying another pair of Zamberlan boots I thought I would try these boots out hoping to get the same quality and comfort in this pair. Boy was I disappointed, after only wearing them for 2 weeks straight I was ready to throw them out the window.

Comments about Zamberlan Civetta GT Hiking Boots - Women's:
I was disappointed with these boots. They never seemed to get broken in after hiking all summer in the mountains. I had huge blisters on my heel after every hike. I was miserable. They did not keep my feet dry in wet or snowy conditions and they quickly showed signs of wear. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Comments about Zamberlan Civetta GT Hiking Boots - Women's:
I previously rated this boot 3 starts when I first got it but now, a year and a half later, I give it 5. I was worried about the looser fit and bulkiness of the boot. However, I never got blisters, the boot is still comfortable after much wear, and this boot is very durable! It has served me well, day hikes and backcountry. The only down side is that it is no longer water proof (though it takes very rainy conditions to seep in). My feet are hard to fit, and Zamberlans fit me well. Of the Zamberlans Iʻve had (310 Skil and Trekker)this one is the best.
