Comments about Mountain Hardwear Phantom +32 Sleeping Bag - Women's Regular:
the previous reviewer doesn't seem to understand bag ratings. . .the low end is never meant to be in the comfortable range, it will keep you alive down to the rated temp. it's my understanding that a bag rated at 32 is suitable for warm summer nights. FYI

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Phantom +32 Sleeping Bag - Women's Regular:
We did an overnighter in coastal Alaska this September and camped in the alpine. Temps got down to the freezing point during the early morning briefly, and the tundra around us had a few ice crystals forming in the depressions. There was no wind at all. We were in a light tent with the rain fly up, and were on 2.5" thick Thermarest Neo Air mattresses.
This bag was not up to the task. My wife had to successively add layers throughout the night, ending in wearing thick thermal bottoms, socks, a warm shirt, hat, and a puffy primaloft jacket to stay warm. She had the bag opening cinched tight to her face. Seeing as how the temps only reached the lower end of the bag's stated range, needing to wear that many clothes makes me question the bag's rating.
Looking at the bag with backlight you can see areas in the baffles where there is no down either because it shifted, or it was insufficiently filled to begin with. You are just relying on two thin layers of nylon and an air space for warmth.
The cut is nice and the bag's finish is top notch. It packs tiny and is very light. The warmth rating is very far off, however, in our experience. I should mention that my wife is a commercial salmon fisherman here in Alaska who sleeps all summer at fish camp with no heat in the cabin sleeping area, and is no stranger to cold conditions.
