The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Deuter ACT Lite 65 + 10 Pack:
My parents bought me this for Christmas before I traveled to Europe, and it was absoltuely perfect for navigating the streets of Spain.
Since then, I have used it for a hike into the Grand Canyon, and will soon be using it to backpack in the White Mountains of Arizona.
It has enough room for a 3 liter water bladder, sleeping bag, sufficient clothing and trail food. Or simply room for enough clothing for 14 days overseas.
My only issue: no external straps that are good for attaching a tent to the backpack.

Comments about Deuter ACT Lite 65 + 10 Pack:
I went hiking with an Osprey Kestrel 48 last weekend and after reaching flapjack lakes I was suckin'! The hip belt was just a tad too small after it rained on me. I immediately went back to REI, straight off the mountain, with all 45 lbs of my kit included. We started trying on every pack in the place until I saw this one.I was settled on a really cool Gregory, but this had price and capacity beat. I adjusted it in store under weight and went walking and hopping around the stairs and everywhere. I walked out with that pack on my back and I am taking out tomorrow. I'll be back with an accurate review from the trail on Sunday.

Comments about Deuter ACT Lite 65 + 10 Pack:
This is a great pack for the price. By no means is this pack delicate I would consider it almost bomb proof. The pack is excellent for weekend getaways and has plenty of space for 2-5 days worth of gear. The cons of this pack is that it is slightly small and has no bottom loop straps for sleeping pad. The front stretch pocket is pretty big and is an awesome place to store all the rain gear. This pack is great for short backpacking trips probably would get this pack again.

Comments about Deuter ACT Lite 65 + 10 Pack:
I love the ACT Lite 65+10 for ultralite backpacking. It is built a lot lighter than any other pack on the market! I use it for 3-4 day stays when we pack in with our toddler in the Kid Comfort III. The 65+10 is able to hold the majority of our gear while my partner packs the kiddo.
Our main down side about the pack is that it is not built to carry heavy loads. It is strictly an ultralite pack.

Comments about Deuter ACT Lite 65 + 10 Pack:
Before I bought this pack I had been using an ill fitting backpack (growing teenager). It made backpacking a pain and I wasn't really a fan of long hikes. After much research I settled for this pack. I tried it out in-store, loaded it up with weight and walked around with it for about a hour. It felt like there was nothing back there.
It performed beautifully on a 40 mile hike I did through the Cascades last summer. There was a lot of up and down, and some sliding down the side of a mountain when we got off track. I loved having the pack.
The only complaint I have is the main pocket is a little short, so it's hard to fit a sleeping pad or tent poles (from a half dome) standing up. Easy to work around if you steal some space from the sleeping bag compartment.

Comments about Deuter ACT Lite 65 + 10 Pack:
Bought this for my son in Scouting, it's nice and light, and adjustable so he won't outgrow it. I'm very impressed with how comfortable it is. I have a Gregory Baltoro 75 and this is just as comfortable, but a lot lighter. Sleeping bag compartment is very large. You can really stuff this bag when you need it. The waist belt padding is very large which holds the bag snug for thinner waists. Only thing missing are straps on the bottom to secure a sleeping pad. There are two loops but they're not adjustable. I just strap the pad between the bag and the +10 top compartment. Otherwise, really great lightweight backpack. Highly recommended.

I am so happy with this pack..One thing I love is that it has a large pocket for your hydaration bladder.I use a 6 ltr drom bag, but you have room to put 2 3 ltr camel bacs if you wanted.. the pack seems to me to be made of pretty tough material... I love the x frame design it makes the pack very sturdy..The air contact padding move air very well and I was very suprised at how well it worked , my backed stayed cool and comfy.. The large stuff pocket in the front is great ,very easy quick access to you rain gear.. I have no complaints at all about this pack and will probly never buy another pack other than a deuter!!!!!!

Comments about Deuter ACT Lite 65 + 10 Pack:
This was my first backpacking pack, got it on sale for a good price and was very happy with my purchase. That first three day trip I packed roughly 60 pounds of gear, including a cast iron pan and a six pack of coors. I was glad i had invested in such a large pack as it was full except for the expandable extra ten liters, and I had my tent strapped on the sides thanks to the numerous attachment points. I had enough adjustment that i could futz with my straps to spread the weight between my shoulders and hips in a variety of different ways, and appreciated the little features like the two pockets on the lid.
Needless to say, the next trip i packed lighter (no cast iron!) and had a much less grueling trip. This trip was much warmer and i was very glad for the "aircontact" system which really works despite my skepticism at first. Again, I didnt use the expansion feature.
I then started to use this pack for car camping too, and that's the only time i've made full use of the 75 liter capacity. with all my stuff except chair and tent inside one pack, it made unloading at the site easier.
The bad: the lower compression strap goes over the mesh drinkholder pocket, which is annoying. I've taken to packing my light and bulky items like clothes in this area so that I don't need to really use the compression straps. The shape of the pockets also means it's difficult to reach said drink. Also, the hipbelt adjustment straps are excessively long for someone my size(30 inch waist and curves like a 2x4)and flapped around annoyingly so i just cut off the last 10 inches or so and melted the ends.
Now that my pack weight is down to around 20-30 lbs for a weeklong trip I've considered cutting out the expansion area. nitpicky? yes. But this would allow the top compartement to be removed and reattached as i please, and I may be able to make the lid into a somewhat funky looking waist pack with some webbing and clips for a summit pack.

Comments about Deuter ACT Lite 65 + 10 Pack:
Backpacked WY over 200mi last fall in the Wind R. Grand Teton, YNP and Beartooth Mts. Trips from 3 to 6 days altitudes 7 to 12K ft, off trail half the time above timberline. In 75 to 28 degrees (-5 nights), snow, rain and sleet all gear inside dry. The pack off trail was extremely stable for boulder hopping and climbing. It is very adjustable and the most comfortable I have used in 50 years of backpacking. The thin profile helped in bushwhacking, Tough fabric no tears or worn areas. The +10 worked well with GTNP's bulky bear container requirement. Caution the clips are not made for lifting the loaded pack, use the lifting loop at the top.
