      Tried this with high hopes, but was sadly disappointed. I could have made a better tasting product with banana pudding, oreos, and graham crackers. This product also lacked banana flavor and tasted like flour and eggs.

        I eat this type of quick-fix food pretty often as I'm backpacking in the Rocky Mts. I decided to give the Banana Cream Pie a try and I'm sorry I did. It was horrible. There wasn't even a hint of banana and it just tasted bad. The only good thing about it was the graham cracker crumbs.

            I love banana cream pie, but I understand that camping food is, at best, a reasonable facsimile thereof, so I think I had expectations for this that would not be TOO hard to meet. ...this was just AWFUL. No matter how hard I closed my eyes and tried to pretend, this tasted NOTHING like bananas, or, well, ANYTHING. My BF and I decided that this must be what egg white flour tastes like. It is like they forgot to add the vanilla or banana flavoring. Get the Dark Chocolate Cheesecake instead. It's great!

                We had a few different desserts on our 2 week backpacking trip, and this was our least favorite. We preferred the ice cream and ice cream sandwiches in general. This pie simply lacked flavor. The best thing I could say is that it almost tasted like malt, which I like, but none of the 4 of us would have guessed it was banana.

                I took this on a 3 night backpacking trip in the Allegheny National Forest - saved it for our last night. My 15 minutes of light boasting to my friends about the deliciousness I was soon to have(and of course share) turned to sudden horror as I tasted the graham cracker crumb drizzled "banana" pudding. Wow...just terrible. I of course shared! 3 guys tried it, 3 guys disliked it. I will say my one friend at least had 3 bites before deciding that he was done. Myself and friend #2 were quite sure after the first.

                I'm very disapointed in this desert. It looks like it called for too much water as it was very watery and didn't set up. The gram cracker and oreo topping was ok if you could get some away from the soggy bananaish flavored goo.

                    I was looking forward to this one. I figured a pudding based desert should be easy to make accurately by just adding water. The directions called for too much water and stirring the powder was a mess. Once we were done mixing it and adding the graham crackers and Oreos we dumped it away after a taste. Was almost as sweet as pure sugar.
