The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Arc'teryx Theta SL Jacket - Men's:
I bought this jacket on sale after talking with a buddy of mine who does outdoor expeditions and is in the field months at a time. I told him about the Jacket being Arcteryx and the Gore-tex, he said sounds like a great combo two great companies, one low price...So I said why not [...]. I just got done using a single layer nylon coated waterproof breathable rain coat and was actually happy with how much better that jacket was than the old plastic rain coats so I figured I'd step up and try a 'real' waterproof breathable jacket...the only problem is that THIS jacket only does one thing...waterproofing. There is no argument it will stop all sorts of rain but I do have issues with the breathability...I tested it in on a 60 degree day (no rain) just wore a t-shirt and took a 4 mile hike. The material does not breathe at all, I was covered in sweat and the jacket especially sticks to your arms right where they bend and even worse when your neck gets sweaty (since the jacket has no neck liner) it rubs and sticks all over your neck. For the price it was just so uncomfortable, I'm not sure if its poor breathability or if the jacket provides no way to comfortably get the moisture off your skin. I agree it would be awesome in cold weather, or could be used as a ski coat but its really uncomfortable as a hiking coat with med to high temperatures especially if you dont want to wear a long sleeved shirt just to keep the jacket from sticking. The heat, sweat buildup is pretty ridiculous especially given how thin the jacket is. I down graded and traded this in for an Outdoor Research Jacket...(I've never used Outdoor Research [...] ;)

Comments about Arc'teryx Theta SL Jacket - Men's:
I just bought this jacket today. The temp's 21 with windchill. I wore this shell with a t-shirt, thin fleece long sleeve, softshell, and then the Theta SL outside. I was lightly sweating just standing around, and walking the dog. I'd want to go with less layers and something with more of a goose down or pullover patagonia sweater on the inside over a t-shirt. I can say that this doesn't breath well, but it's been my experience of gortex that they never quite "breath" as well as they say they do. I have never had a nicer made jacket, and I've had several military gortex jackets and pants in the army. All that being said I'm 6'1" and roughly 190 or so, and an XL is perfect in the arm length, yet slightly long in the torso area.

Comments about Arc'teryx Theta SL Jacket - Men's:
I bought the Theta SL exclusively for hiking and backpacking. As a rain coat and outer layer it has been nothing short of exceptional. It protects so well I've actually forgotten it was raining. It cuts the wind equally well. During a recent Montana spring pack trip I hiked through rain, wind and snow and this layer kept me warm and comfortable. And although condensation did build while carrying a pack, my layers dried quickly while setting up camp(this in a heavy wet spring snow storm)--testimony to the shell's breathability. Although pricey, you get what you pay for--an excellent performer. Now let's see if it lasts 10 years.

Comments about Arc'teryx Theta SL Jacket - Men's:
The Theta is a great jacket. I was looking into the Beta SL before and had my heart set on it. Nevertheless when I look at the differences the price tag "seemed"(yes it a considerable difference)reasonable because the Theta SL has pit zips which will help keep you cool unlike the Beta. On the upper part of Theta is a 380NR GORE-TEX® Pro Shell 3L (340 2L on the lower parts)which will hold better for backpacking with some weight, the Beta SL has only 340 2L. The Theta SL sits lower under the waist so when you have a backpack it won't ride up. Still, like all things said it up to you to if the price is worth it. I feel that it has. I did call Arc'teryx to see if I was right and that they say it really not for casual use but it's still on their website so that why I called. I hope this help others.

This is a great four season jacket. Constructed of very light PacLite but durable enough to take a beating with the Gore-Tex Pro Shell reinforcements. It is useful for just about any activity where weather is windy, rainy or snowy. I wear mine four seasons out of the year. In winter I layer it with an Arc'teryx Apache or Covert fleece and there is plenty of room. I am 5'11 and 185 lbs. and the large fits great.

Great jacket. It packs into a small roll so you can take it anywhere. Amazing how well it breathes and how water proof it is. You can stand in your home shower and stay perfectly dry.
Worth the high price as it will last.
The sleeves are long as I guess you can pull them over your hands to keep them dry.

Comments about Arc'teryx Theta SL Jacket - Men's:
I think this is a great jacket. It is versatile and keeps you dry. For me, the fit under the armpits is a bit tight, but can still get layers on underneath. This jacket has quality, breathable, waterproof, durable material at the critical points (shoulders, arms and hood) but lower quality material on areas that don't see the full force of nature (mostly the back). This brings the price down a bit, but doesn't feel like it compromises the overall quality of the jacket. I'm glad I bought it.

Comments about Arc'teryx Theta SL Jacket - Men's:
I spent last week sightseeing and skiing in CO using this as my hard shell. The Theta SL is great at keeping wind out and added probably 20 degrees of warmth (fully zipped up) to my underlayers—I was using a Under Armour ColdGear Base 2.0, a TNF TKA 100 Fleece, and my Theta and was comfortable the whole day with temps in the 30's. The shell breathes well and has a lot of venting options with the pit zippers. The only thing I saw that could be improved was that the waterproof zippers are hard to use one-handed; but, after all they are waterproof. I much prefer the stowable hood over the other Arc'Teryx jackets and loved the extra length of the jacket for the protection the few times I biffed. I love it and consider it a worthwhile upgrade over my TNF Circadian Paclite Jacket. Highly recommended!
