        got these plus the matching top to wear in Peru while on a medical mission. they worked out great! I wore them under scrubs nearly every day while I saw patients outside. the mornings would start out very cold and then heat up to the 60s. these were amazingly comfortable; no chafing or rubbing. plus they weren't too hot once it got warmer outside.

            I ended up returning these and getting the midweight version instead. The lightweight long underwear are about as thick as nylons. If that thickness is enough to keep you warm save your money and buy some nylons. If you want regular long underwear buy the midweight.

              They are very comfortable under my regular jeans. I wore them all day -- walking around outdoors in 35-40 °F, inside stores and restaurants, and outside in football stands that evening in 32 °F for 3 hours. They kept me comfortable outdoors and weren't too hot indoors.

                I need to replace my REI longies that have served me well for ten years. The old ones had ample coverage and a knit cuff that kept out the breezes. I am returning these because they leave four inches of my ankle exposed. I measure the inseam at 30 inches, no cuff either. I'm still looking for functional long underwear

                  For the last three years, I have practically lived in my REI long underwear during the winter months. They were wonderful for hiking, under my work clothes in a cold office, sleeping - in short, I LOVED my long underwear! When I returned to the store to purchase replacements this winter (they wear well, but as I said, I wear them all the time so they eventually wear out!), I found these. They seemed disappointing in the store but I was in a hurry and grabbed them anyway. Now I wish I hadn't. They no longer have a lovely soft feel, instead they feel rough against my skin. They also seem thinner and in general of lesser quality. The higher weight long underwear also felt rough and not built for comfort. I'll be sadly returning these to the store and replacing them with another brand. As an interesting side note, I wandered over to the children's section of the store and found long underwear in the same fabric I used to love. What's with that?!

                  I gave these 2 stars because I liked my old version MUCH better. These are thicker. Slightly shorter and do not fit snug at ankle. This new fabric also snags very easily. I like to wear these as outerwear too, and they hike up when running/hiking and gather at the knees.

                  Great product! Very comfortable under my regular clothes. Totally "wicked" sweat away from my body - but wet transfered to my on top clothing. I would wash in the sink at night and hang in front of the radiator and would be 100% dry in the morning. A great length, I didn't tuck them into my socks and they never rode up my legs.

                  I bought this because I was visiting my parents in Sweden over Christmas 2010 and I didn't have long underwear. They definately kept me warmer and were easy to keep clean. Thanks!!
