This is simply the perfect carry solution for the iPad--it's minimalist, and doesn't look like a murse (sorry guys)! I keep my iPad in the original design Apple slip-case and it "squeezes" nicely right into the spot. It's a tight fit with the case on my iPad, but it fits without problem. Honestly, I wish more word of this case would get out on the internet because I've looked at almost every case produced so far, and this is simply the best. I just got done ordering this same case one size larger (a small) just to give me a little extra carry space for those days I need to haul more stuff. Also to make sure I can still carry my iPad in the REI case when my new DODO cover shows up. Thanks for this case, it's a great solution and a perfect fit.

Got this to carry my Dell Mini 10. It fits perfectly (with the standard battery -- it won't fit with the extended battery on the Mini 10), but don't expect to carry anything else; you can maybe fit a pair of earbuds and a couple of pens/pencils in the pockets but nothing much thicker than that. If you stuff the power cable in the outside pocket it creates quite a bulge. You can't fit an ordinary 8.5x11 pad of paper inside the pockets.

Overall, well-make with lots of padding and about as small as it could possibly be and still hold the Mini 10. I usually toss it in my backpack and use it as a very good protective sleeve.

I had the earlier version of this case for my netbook, but when I sold it and got an iPad, I needed some additional pockets and a place to put my bluetooth keyboard.

The padded sleeve is perfect for the iPad in the Apple cover, and there's still plenty of room for my keyboard, charger, and a few other accessories.

On really long trips, I'll toss this whole bag into my backpack. It fits in any space a normal 13-15 inch laptop would require.

My only two gripes (and they are minor) are:

1) The inside pocket that I had hoped would hold my keyboard turns up on both sides, making it impossible to slide my keyboard into. However, there's plenty of room in the center compartment for it, and it all rides very comfortably.

2) The $9.99 strap REI suggests for this is WAY overkill. It's the same weight as the bag! After buying the REI strap, I set it aside and used a cheap, light strap included with one of my small camera cases.

Again, I love the case ... I can't believe REI isn't advertising this for use with the iPad ... it's perfect!

I bought this for use with my new iPad and I'm very happy with this product for that use. It fits the iPad like it was specifically made for it. The extra pockets make it much more practical and useful than a simple sleeve. The zipper design allows you to unzip it flat if needed for security checks and also allows you to remove the iPad without completely unzipping the case. The case will easily hold the iPad, sync cable and wall charger as well as a pair of earbuds, cell phone and other accessories. The rounded edges of this bag allow it to slide easily into and out of other bags if necessary.

I would think that the wireless keyboard might fit into the other internal pocket but I don't know this for sure.

Although this bag has attachment points for a shoulder strap, I really don't think this is necessary since the bag and contents won't weigh more than a few pounds.

Great bag, useful features and pockets, well made, and reasonably priced.

The Apple keyboard is 11" long and this case is 11.5" wide. I thought it would fit but wasn't positive so I took mine into the store. It's a perfect fit.

Now on those short business trips where I just want to travel with the iPad, but may still need a keyboard for notes or document editing, I have the perfect case for the iPad, keyboard, and phone & iPad chargers in the external pocket.

I generally do a lot of research before I buy a product and I searched all over the Internet and REI's bag was my choice. I use this for my new iPad, taking it to work and just returned from Barrow, AK with it. It looks great and so much better than the old traditional black leather briefcase I once used. I keep my charger in the zippered pouch, along with a couple of pens. The inside compartment holds papers folded in half and the zippered tablet pocket cradles my iPad. I couldn't be much happier with my purchase. Thanks REI!

I bought this bag to use with my iPad while on a trip to the West Coast. I wanted a bag that I could use to store the iPad, a viewing stand for the iPad, my earbuds, AC adapters and sync cables for both my iPhone and iPad so that I could stow my shoulder bag yet have access to all my electronic gadgets while on long flights. This bag really fit the bill. It fits all of the above, plus has room in the front organizer pockets for my license and a pack of chewing gum--all the necessities for a carry-on bag. I bought the strap for it but rarely use it. I just fit the entire case in my shoulder bag and carry it that way. It provides really good protection for the iPad. I highly recommend it.

Got this at the store for my netbook. Looks like it would fit well in the neoprene compartment and give good protection. Liked the "butterfly" design for going through security. Ultimately I had to return it due to a fatal flaw on the zipper compartment of the neoprene laptop section. This section has two zipper pulls, but they seem to have been put on backwards. In other words, unlike the zipper pulls on the outer compartment, which close the zipper as they're pulled together, these close the compartment as they're pulled apart, meaning the compartment is only completely closed when the two zipper pulls are on opposite sides of the track. This seems to defeat the purpose of the dual zipper pull to me, which is supposed to make it faster to close and open since you can have the pulls meet in the middle instead of going all the way out. Furthermore, the current design allows for an awkward zipper placement where the two pulls are together in the middle of the track, holding the zipper closed only at that point while the rest of the zipper is open on either side, meaning you can't get your laptop/iPad out, but it's still unprotected. I thought this might be a mistake with the particular unit I picked up, but I went back to the store and all of the units at all sizes had this same weird zipper configuration only on the neoprene inner laptop pocket. I'm not sure if this is some sort of feature that I'm just missing, but it seems like a major design flaw to me. I returned the item, and I guess I'll wait for the redesign or look for something comparable from another company.
