fantastic design, Love the sleek metro look. I finally found a case for my MBP 17". The inner neoprene suspended pouch snuggles my laptop. The rigid back protects it from bumps. It could use one more zippered pocket and maybe a few more colors. Good job REI.

Purchased this on sale for my Macbook Pro. I also keep an OWS firewire drive and cable in outter pocket- don't expect to put much of any bulk in there. Some forms inside inner pocket- again, forget about putting anything of bulk in there either. I keep this inside a larger Tom Bihn bag and after about a year I noticed the main zipper on one side was detached from the track. No way to get it back on track, and since I never unzip the bag down the sides where this occurred, not sure how it happened. I did noticed the zipper isn't as beefy as that on my Tom Bihn bag, so I guess it's a good thing I keep it in there. So I would keep an eye on that main zipper. Otherwise, nice bag for the money. One thing that bugged me was when I went to exchange this for a replacement, the rep told me I have to pay the difference between sale and regular price. When asked why, she said it was because my bag's color was discontinued. OoooK. I guess. My old bag looked identical in color to the baked saffron, which is in some stores and online, but not at the store I was at. So I ended up paying full price anyway. Also, inspect the stitching carefully, and zipper function when you select one. Nice bag but nicer if it doesn't fail. Since I keep it inside a much beefier bag, I'll continue to use it for now.

For me this is a great case for day-to-day commuting. I love it. I've been using it for over a year now. It holds my laptop securely along with the power cord, a travel mouse and mouse pad, and a few papers and disks. I wouldn't recommend it for heavy duty large traveling needs, I have a mega-sized laptop case for that purpose. For light duty though, it can't be beat. If you can just try to take everything you're going to want to carry in your laptop case with you to the store to try it out, then you'll know if it will suit your purpose or not.

I bought the 17" Macbook and needed an easy-to-carry, well padded case for my commute to work. It is perfect for my needs. Lots of pockets for DVDs, CDs, cords, papers, etc. The handle is the right length and comfortable. My laptop is well protected inside and I often use the case open on my lap when not at my studio desk and it insulates from the heat of the laptop and helps to balance. Can't say enough great things about this case!
