I was pretty excited about this product. I have a bird dog, so I thought this would be perfect for him! I found quite a few short falls in the product. First of all the 'whistling' is not loud enough for him to follow (I'm not even sure he hears it). Second, the color seems blends into the grass (since dogs are colorblind)so he can't find it well by sight and has to rely on smell to find it, which leads me to number three. This ball has no soft surface so it doesn't retain smell, which was obvious before I bought it, but I though he would be able to see and hear it better. And finally the ball sank when it landed in water! It says directly on the package that it floats! I had to go in after it!
To be fair they do bounce and seem pretty durable! In the end I say save your money and buy tennis balls, your dog will thank you!

Purchased as an alternitive to tennis balls which my goldens will destroy in a day. They seem to love them and will fetch them endlessly. The whistling isn't very loud when chucked, but they follow and find them without any trouble. They have held up well to the last month of use, no breakdown of the rubber, they don't smell, perfect for indoors and out.

True, the ball does not float. My dog may be blue/green color blind, however he uses sent not sight to find objects not in motion. We really enjoy playing with this ball, much more interesting than a tennis ball.

This has been a great toy for my dog. The pack of balls did not state that they float as the previous reviewer stated. Common sense would lead me to believe that the 4 holes prevent it from floating. The whistling sound is audible to me so it has to be loud and clear for my dog.
The only problem was the color blue, since dogs have a had time differentiating between the blue green spectrum it can be hard to find on a lawn if your dog does not see where it goes. However this provides more mental stimulation for the dog having to find a hidden toy.
