I did months of research before deciding on this particular kayak. We actually have 2 of these!

I am 5'3" and while it is much, much easier to load this on our van with my husband, I have went out twice and managed to load and unload it on my own. 45lbs isn't really heavy but it is rather awkward.

The cockpit entry is just large enough to get in and out of comfortably and my petite! 3 year old has just enough space to enjoy a short ride with me while on the lake as well. For the most part, though, if she wants a short ride, you'll see her straddling the top and draggin her feet in the water on the sides.

Stability is great with this boat. I think the entry is the one thing that a new kayaker will have to figure out but once in, it is amazingly stable.

13 foot is a perfect in-between, have it all kayak length. They are NOT whitewater kayaks by any means but the shorter length has allowed us to be able to take them in rivers with class I and II rapids with ease. Just long enough so we are not paddling like crazy on lakes and calm rivers to get from point A to point B.

They are surprisingly fast and track straight.

I love the thigh braces! A big plus for comfort and maneuverability in rapids. The seats are extremely comfortable and adjustable too. The foot pegs are easily adjustable as well. Overall, very comfortable kayak.

Plenty of dry storage in the back and a little in the front depending on how tall you are. Although we have not used these for camping trips, I would think that you should have no trouble with the storage given and bungee cords on the top that a short weekend trip would be completely managable.

My husband and I took these out right away and practice dumping them and had no trouble at all with wet entries. Between the dry hull in the back and the extra flotation in the front, we have no fear of this boat sinking.

Super-cool design and colors as well!

Super fun times in this have-it-all sized kayak!! We've had no regrets purchasing them. I would suggest them to anyone looking for a bit of both worlds.
