Comments about REI Lumen +10 Sleeping Bag - Short:

I purchased the Lumen because I needed a decent mummy bag for winter backpacking. Everything about this bag is pretty awesome (comfortable, very warm, roomy footbox, accessories pocket, adjustable drawstring, perfect size for me since I'm 5'4"), except for the fact that it is huge and bulky. I understood that a compression bag would be needed for a synthetic mummy bag...I tried the Sea to Summit eVent XL compression bag, and by the time I was finished compressing, the lumen was a little bit larger than a basketball. I have a 48 liter pack and having this sleeping bag took up roughly 1/3 to 1/2 of my pack. If you are an avid year-round car camper, I would recommend this bag.
