Great fit. Very comfortable. Wanted something like my old Teva Guide's. Had three pair over 15 years, great shoes. This model is an improvement in all ways but one. It has the stickiest spider rubber, but it does wear out fast. I noticed very significant wear after one BWCA trip and casual wear of one week. I wouldn't use these for casual use, and sidewalks just chew up the sole. I will note I never slipped once on my several wet portages carrying canoes and gear. They are unusually good at what they were intended for, and very comfortable, but keep them off pavement and concrete or they will wear out fast.

I have mixed feelings about this sandal. I loved it right away for the build quality on the top of the shoe and the design of the straps. I did notice that the rubber on the bottom of the sandal is not just a soft climbing rubber but gummy in texture and softer than even a technical climbing shoe. it is like walking on a hard gummy bear. It does have good traction but also picks up every piece of debre off of the ground and trows it all around. I walked through my yard and took of the sandal to find it had been embedded with sticks and debre. I took a walk on one 95 degree day just to find one of the sandals soles had literally melted on some hot rocks. I can tell you that this would not happen with a pair of chaco's. Good boating sandals of water play like a park, but dont expect them to be a true "outdoors" sandal as you will be disappointed.
