I schlepped to a REI in a neighboring state in order to try this shirt, as I was looking for something with high UPF that works for biking and hiking in hot humid weather. As a borderline plus sized woman, I was disappointed that the (only) 1X in stock fit so poorly. In my experience, plus sized women- and other women like me even when they are thinner- do not like short shirts. This one is cut just at the hip, providing inadequate coverage for the likes of us. I was going to suck it up and buy it anyway (in a color that is not terribly flattering to me- more colors please!). But then I went into the men's section and realized that the cut of the men's Sahara and Mojave shirts had much better coverage through the hips. I went with a men's Large Mojave shirt instead of the women's 1X Sahara and am very happy with it; the Sahara fit even better but the colors looked really bad on me. I would recommend the women's shirt to some friends but definitely not to my plus-sized friends.

I bought this shirt and bought it a size bigger than I wear. The bottom of the shirt ended up hitting about 2 inches from the top of my belt. Every time I would lift my arms up, it would be above my stomach. The sleeves were just a tad short, but the chest fit great and the back was even a bit big. I guess if you are an XL or above these probably wouldn't be for you. :(

WAY too short. I saw someone else wearing something similar a few years ago and I thought that maybe it was just that she had a different shaped body. No, it's the shirt. It's terrible. This is going back. I'm going to try what another reviewer did and order the men's shirt...hopefully that will work. Sad, because it looked totally normal on the model.
