This watch was great, except that the band utterly fell apart after about 1 year of use. The same thing happened to my friend's identical watch, and the guy at REI said he'd seen it a handful of times there too. The design is such that there is NO way to replace the band, even though the actual watch was still working great. [...]

I've had this watch for over a year and the band began to break almost immediately. Not only has it come apart from the time piece, but it has broken in two places. The first time I stapled it to make it work, but now it has just fallen apart. It's a shame because the design and the actual watch are quite nice.

I really liked the look of this watch and wear it everyday but have worn in swimming 3 times and it now has a fogged face and water droplets on the face. Disappointing!

I loved the way the watch looked, very feminine, but after a year the design wore off, buttons were falling off, and the loop that held the end of the strap down broke.

This was the third time I have purchased this watch in the past 7 years. The first two lasted 3 years (they were a different model) but the band eventually wore out, but I was happy to purchase a new one. SADLY, I went for a swim like regular times, and it bubbled under the plastic, and then went completely dead. 10 days later, it's still full of water and out of commission. I thought this was reliable for all of my athletic uses (running, biking, yoga, swimming), but I'm really disappointed. I'm a teacher and I've loved the timers and alarms, but I'm so bummed out. I will not buy a Timex again... There is no fix for this.

I bought this watch to time myself on my runs. I wanted a GPS to keep track of how far I ran, but those were too pricey for me. This watch works very well time my runs, also it's pretty enough to wear to work. I wear it all the time.

I've been buying the Timex Ironman watch in women's size for many years and have owned 3 or 4 different colors. I've had my current watch for at least 2 years and have had no problems. I have never had a band break on any of the Timex Ironman women's watches I've owned. When I've replaced them it's because I was ready for a change of color or the watch was just starting to look old and scratched from the tons of use and abuse it had received. I wear mine continually and never take it off except if I'm diving. The model is easy to use. My only minor complaint is the battery is a little hard to change, but I suspect this is the case for any watch with a button battery. I just ordered one with the floral pattern because it is unique and cute as well as extremely functional. My old watch still works fine, but I'll be wearing this one with my "dressy" clothes.
