The new pocket design has a single hook-and-loop fastener that is easier to open than the previous two fastener design. It is easier to clip a pen in the pocket because the pocket has almost no flap.
REI continues to put the hook part of the hook-and-loop fastener on the outward facing side which causes outer layers (such as a knit jacket, binocular strap, camera strap, sunglass retainer) to get hooked.
One button came off the second time I put on the shirt. I had to sew four buttons on after the first washing.
The sleeves are about 1/2" too short. The sleeve length of REI Tall shirts has varied by one and a half inches over the last five years.

I am 5'10" tall and weight 170lbs. I always buy Medium Tall so thought I would have no problems with this shirt, but that was not the case.
After putting it on I tried lifting my arms over my head and everything went tight in the back around the shoulder area, plus you cannot get your arms through the sleeves when they are rolled up.
I am guessing that if you only weighted 160lbs or maybe even less, this shirt might work for you. You would have to have very skinny arms and narrow shoulders.
If your at a loss of what to buy now, try out ExOfficio's Air Strip Lite in Medium Tall which has a very nice fit and a quality build. Only 2 colours though.
To make this Sahara Tech shirt better REI needs to copy ExOfficio on the fit, add a zippered "secret pocket" for carrying a passport, and make sure there aren't loose threads in the button holes to snag the buttons.

I purchased this shirt for mountaineerig and long (50+) mile backpacking trips. It has exceeded my expectations in every way. It is so comfortable and wrinkles just disappear after 1/2 hour I now use it for all my casual events such as day at the ball park, kicking around town, etc. Buy it, you will like it.

I'm a tall athletic guy but have a hard time getting long sleeve shirts that have long enough sleeves. There is nothing worse than shirts that end at the middle of your forearm! I like this shirt a lot, and as others have noted--the sleeves could be a bit longer. Still, this is the best I have found and I am grateful to REI for the long/tall clothes they make!

I bought this shirt based on the comments on the regular-sized shirts, and because at 6'6" I need the extra sleeve and shirttail length. It is very difficult for me to find good shirts that fit me well, and this one fit like a glove. It looks great, fits well, and is really breathable. If you're a taller guy looking for a decent-looking collared shirt that will travel well, look no further. I really hope REI keeps making these and restocks them in other colors (I got the Navy one).

Reading other comments about being too tight in the shoulders I opted for a large the first time. I should have ordered my normal size. I am 6'-2", 175 lbs and have 46" shoulders and the medium tall fits perfect. The large had a little more room in the shoulders but, like all large shirts, fit me like a tent around the torso. I do wish manufactures would taper the waist for us tall guys and I always go for the sport cut when offered but REI sizes are true.

I wrote a review on the navy blue version of this shirt below and thought I'd add a few lines about the waterbuck brown. Again, the fit is perfect, and I'm thrilled to find a shirt like this for proportionately-sized tall people. I've since tried onces from Ex-Officio and Cabelas, and didn't like them nearly as much. Note that the waterbuck brown is almost more of a dark khaki color than a true brown, and it's tough to pair with certain colors of pants/shorts. I found that this went well with stone-colored pants/shorts and jeans; the color is too close to khaki and dark brown for it to look right with pants/shorts of those colors. Otherwise another awesome shirt. I DO wish that REI had more color selections for this shirt; seriously, sell this in some form of GREEN (like sage or olive)

I bought this shirt for backpacking mainly. It is light and dries fairly quickly. Only problem I have are the buttons. When I went to wash it for the first time I ended up losing a button. After a few times wearing it most of the buttons are starting to fall off. Not that big of a deal for me...spent some time resewing them.

I just received this in the mail, and am going to have to return it. The fit allows no movement without pulling everything tight around the back, shoulders and arms. I am 5' 10" 170lbs and have always fit Medium Tall. If you weight 160 lbs this shirt might work for you, if not, I would recommend a large. When first putting it on a couple of buttons got stuck on loose threads on the button holes. Also, the button holes are extremely tight but may loosen up. Also, one has to undo the buttons to get their hands through the sleeves and you can forget about rolling up the sleeves unless you have super skinny arms.
