I bought three of these shirts last summer (2009) and liked them so much I decided to buy two more (July 2010). I still like them, but REI is cutting corners and I'm not happy about that. The fit is tighter and REI dropped a number of the nice details from last summer's version. The two pleats below the yoke on the back along the shoulders, the v-shaped notches on the sleeves, and sewn in label at the neck are all gone. And regardless of what it says here on REI's website and on the card accompanying the shirt, the button are no longer bamboo. They're plastic. I'd rather pay a few more bucks and have the same shirt I bought last summer. If it ain't broke, REI, don't fix it.

This shirt is awesome. It is very comfortable, true to size, and very lightweight and breathable. I would wear this anywhere! One tip though, make sure to wash it before the first time you wear it. I took it home and wore it the next day, and it was a little itchy. After the first time through the wash, it was perfect!

I live in Micronesia right now and with humidity around 95 percent these work great. I have 7 shirts with me and they are all I use. They did cut down on the quality as mentioned in another review. In general though they have held up well and I much prefer them to anything synthetic.Micronesia: [@]

This was a very good looking shirt until I washed it a couple times. The shirt was comfortable, breathable and felt good. The first time I wore it I was pleased, but after I'd washed it a couple times it had shrunk, not so much that it wasn't big enough, but just fit oddly now. REI stood behind their product and I returned it without a problem.

The shirt has become less green, it shrinks much more than in the past and the cut is tighter. Come on REI, this is a great shirt and I have bought it since you brought it out a few years back and I have put it to great use in the tropics and elsewhere but you are getting cheap on us!
Recommended but buy a size larger if you use a dryer.

I wear these shirts when I want to look moderately professional in the summer without cooking. When it's hot and muggy and you don't want to be wearing anything, these are the lightest weight, most breathable shirts I've ever had that I feel presentable in.
I bought three in 2010 and the colors have gotten more severe since then. I may get the red one but I'm sad that I won't be able to replace my softer colors.
