The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants with No-Sit Zips - Men's 36" Inseam:
I have to say that when i bought these I was very excited and they served well the first two camping trips. Pants are light, repel water well, you can convert them into shorts if it gets to hot. But by third time everything went wrong. The leg zippers started to malfunction and the seams on the crotch and pockets started to come undone. Next thing I know i am stuck in the middle of canyon with my butt and legs peaking out of my pants. So I think I might go back to khaki or jeans with triple stitching for now at least.

Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants with No-Sit Zips - Men's 36" Inseam:
First of all, I love this line of pants. They are pretty much all I wear now. Jeans are just too heavy and tight. I recommend that everyone buys them and leaves comments that can help REI improve on the little things. Then the pants will go from four stars to five.
The length is a bit strange, slightly too long at the right size and slightly too short at one size lower, so it would be nice if REI could look into it. I am also not a big fan of the new belt style, but I can live with it. A bigger concern though, is the button backing. My prior versions of these pants were fine, but the new model has a backing that chafes my waist terribly.
The button backing is made of a plastic circle with a thin metal circle over it. The thin metal part is sharp edged and cuts into the skin. When I compared the two models it seems that the buttons are the same, but the new one did not have the backing stamped into the plastic under it (a manufacturing error?) so the metal edge is not surrounded by plastic. My wife used iron-on fabric tape to cover the button backing so hopefully the problem will be functionally resolved, but REI please address this issue on your next order of Sahara's!!!

Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants with No-Sit Zips - Men's 36" Inseam:
We had been preparing for a 6 day trip to the White Mountains and I had been searching EVERYWHERE on-line for a pair of lightweight hiking pants for my husband who is 6'4" with long legs. All other outdoor stores had 34" as their "tall" size which is at least 2 inches too short. Thank you REI for offering the 36" inseam pants. He wore them 4 days straight hiking the White Mountains a total of 25 miles in varying weather conditions. They were great. Since he only wore them for this one trip, we cannot comment how they will be in the long run but we plan to get more pairs.

Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants with No-Sit Zips - Men's 36" Inseam:
I don't normally write reviews, however I felt this item need one. It has held up incredibly well over the last year. No complaints at all. The zippers are very durable and haven't experienced any issues with them at all. Very comfortable. They also fit me incredibly well, I am 6'5 and for those of you out there this tall you know how difficult it is to find clothing that fits well, not to short etc. I would recommenced this to tall folks.

Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants with No-Sit Zips - Men's 36" Inseam:
I use these pants for just about everything. They're great for lounging at the then going to the mall, then going out with friends. They're great for most occasions. I'm 6'5 275 with a gut and have never had a problem with them being to tight. I've had them for 2 years and the zipper is as good as the day I bought it. I've got 2 pair and am planning on buying about 4 more. Pants in our sizes are just to hard to come by. I know the plight of the big guy and trust me these pants will not let you down.

Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants with No-Sit Zips - Men's 36" Inseam:
I have an earlier version of these pants, and was glad to see they fixed some of the drawbacks. I'm unsure if they fixed the main problem with my pair, which is the ability of the cargo pockets to snag on any little thing that sticks out around them. I've had many other pairs of cargo shorts, and none of them have had this problem. I'd recommend these to a friend, but only after I warned them about the pockets.
But aside from the cargo pockets snagging, they're great pants to wear when I'm bike commuting on the days when the temperature changes during the day calls for different layers on the way in and home. The extra secret pocket is handy for money or credit cards, and my old cell phone fit perfectly in the cell phone pocket in the left cargo pocket.

Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants with No-Sit Zips - Men's 36" Inseam:
Overall a great pair of trousers, especially if you are a tall guy. I normally have a very hard time finding a 36" inseam and this came through in spades for me. So much that I actually had to hem the bottom of the trousers so that they wouldn't get caught under my boots.

Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants with No-Sit Zips - Men's 36" Inseam:
I'm 6'6" and got size xl (36" inseam)[$] Wish I had ordered more than one pair as they're out of my size now. They fit great and have great inseam length. I use the zipper pocket in the main pocket to keep my id. Glad to know if I need a new pair, I can find long pants here.

These are great! They fit good and are comfortable. But, the lower legs can be a bit of a pain to rezip unless your sitting down and have a bit of time.

Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants with No-Sit Zips - Men's 36" Inseam:
These are my first convertible pants, and I think I am going to love them. But be careful with the sizing. I have been wearing pants with 34" waist for decades, and the Medium size is supposed to be 32" - 34", but these substantially smaller than any 34" waist size pants I have ever worn. I am returning the size Medium pants and have reordered them in size Large.
