Comments about The North Face Apex Gloves - Men's:
I bought this glove as a lightweight "waterproof" glove for outdoor work, driving, and outdoor recreation for mid-cold temperatures. You can't expect this glove to be warm in negative degree days (and I don't), but for this type of glove, it's performance is poor. The glove is fairly waterproof the first couple days you use it, but that quickly wears off and you are left with a glove that soaks up a lot of water and doesn't dry. It also doesn't wick moisture from your skin at all. Once these babies are wet, it's game over. I once owned an Apex Bionic Jacket, and that material also lost its "waterproof" quality. I guess I should have seen that coming. Another selling point originally for me was the tacky palm/fingers. These also quickly either 1, lost their gripping quality and became slippery, or 2, fell off completely in high stress areas like the thumbs, palm, and first two fingers. Overall, if you are solely concerned with style, theses gloves are nice. If you are looking for quality, avoid this product. I live in MN and see North Face fanboys/girls everywhere who wear this stuff only to look fashionable and pretend they are savvy outdoors athletes. I am continually disappointed with TNF Apex material, and I think this are the last North Face product I will ever purchase. I have had great luck with Marmot and OR, so take a serious look at some of those products.

Comments about The North Face Apex Gloves - Men's:
These gloves really missed the mark. In mildly cold weather (30 - 40s) the gloves did not wick moisture well which caused the liner to bunch up, making it nearly impossible to take the gloves on and off. In cold weather (<20) they were not warm at all. Maybe they could be worn for short durations, if you aren't active - definitely did not cut it on a six hour hike. My wife had the same problems with the women's version.

Good for driving or physical outdoor activity. Not warm, but also not advertised to be warm. Only issue is that the rubber grips are wearing very quickly and are flaking off quickly. Once gone, these gloves will be slippery on a cold plastic steering wheel.

I used these a few weeks back to hike Mt Whitney. There was still plenty of snow on the mountain but the cond's weren't freezing. Hiking through the snow and glasading down some faces my hands stay warm and dry. The TNF grips don't look like they will last forever but I didn't expect them too and for the price these gloves are AWESOME!

Fit well and feel comfortable. I bought them for a light weight ski/hiking glove for Pacific Northwest. Waterproofing lasted about one day, the are not warm at all. Don't dry quickly. So perhaps for desert hiking they would be great!

Comments about The North Face Apex Gloves - Men's:
I bought these for running above 25 degrees. I normally use XL but got L due to the finger length. They are snug fitting. I used them today for a 37 min. run on a sunny windy day at 30 degrees. The gloves felt great. I read several of the negative comments. I have problems with all running gloves holding water and making it dificult to take on and off. These gloves did not seem as wet when I got done. I was not sure if they breathed at all. I hand washed them after I was done, and noticed they appeared to have a a waterproof texture coating on them. So far I really like these gloves.

Got these for Christmas a few years back and the grip is still just as strong. I am 6'2" and got an XL to layer over a light glove on extreme cold days. The large probably would have been fine by itself, but I wanted the extra room for adding layers when the temperature drops.
I wear them driving, running, and anytime I'm outside and I love them. Go buy a pair you won't regret it.

Comments about The North Face Apex Gloves - Men's:
Needed a new pair of gloves for Cross Country Skiing that weren't too bulky, were water resistant and windproof. In Alaska, I often ski in 5 to 20 degree weather and these gloves were perfect and kept my fingers warm the whole duration of 2-3 hours. Haven't tried longer or colder yet, but am confident these gloves were the best choice!

Used these bad boys for bummin' around, loading lumber out in the Illinois cold, backcountry hikin etc. They're a really tough glove! Kept me warm and dry every time. They're a tight fit, not bulky but still work like a super insulated ski glove. Take them anywhere, I do.
