I bought this bag to replace my worn-out Reebok messenger bag. The primary use is for bike commuting, but I also use it for school and anything else.

I like to buy products that are made in the USA, are durable, and are made responsibly. This bag nails all three.

The quality is superb. The single zipper, always a concern of mine, seems to be of the vartiey that will last. When closed, it seals perfectly.

The main closure is velcro, but there are also adjustable straps here for extra security.

The T-strap, which is included when ordering from REI, is easily adjustable and keeps the bag perfectly secure on my body while cycling.

The carrying strap is wide, comfortable, and easily-and-securely adjustable.

The size is perfect - I like to travel with minimum bulk, and this bag is just large enough for all of my needs without being at all excessive. I was concerned that it might not be deep enough to carry food, but upon receipt I was pleased to discover that there is more than enough room for that, even with items like magazines or a book in the rear pocket. On a typical day, I carry several food items, boxer shorts, socks, and a shirt in the main pocket and there's room for more. If that still isn't enough, about 4" of vertical expansion is available.

Thoughtful desgin considerations abound. The reflective stripes are appreciated for the supplemental visibility they provide while commuting at night. The easily-accessible front pocket is roomy, and most of my everyday-carry items like wallet, bandana, phone, and pocket coin dispenser go here, yet there's still room for my iPod Touch if I want to take it too. There are four pockets on the inside front - two are medium-sized, and are great for items like a portable hard drive, a bike tool/parts kit, or CDs, and the other two are perfect for pens and like-shaped items. A key clip permits neat storage of my keys and flashlight. Even the logo is slick.

Every once in awhile, you find a product that simply works without any quirks, compromises, or concerns. This is one such product, and it has the additional qualities of being unique, sharp-looking, and a responsible way to keep valuable natural resources from being wasted. Outstanding.
