As an add on to the previous comment, all it takes is a simple minute to read the instructions, and you will learn that the lights are programed to turn off after 30 seconds or a minute because they are on "store" mode. So this means that if someone in the store turns on the light and walks away, it'll turn itself off. If you hold the light down for a minute, then it blinks rapidly and "store mode" turns off. then they stay on when you need them on. read the instructions people.

I love these lights. Think playing cards in your spokes as a kid fun, but with a function. I use the wheel ones for added visibility along with a helmet light and rear seat light. When riding with my backpack, I've attached the small white one flashing. Love how simple and easy these are to use

There is a factory setting that you have to turn off in order for these lights to stay on completely. The company does this in order to SAVE the battery life until the product is purchased. The light will not stay on for more than 30 seconds in demo mode, but if reset, the light will function normally. If you did not see these instructions on the packaging or no longer have the packaging, you can search online for the instructions.

Good, versatile little lights that can be mounted just about anywhere. The spoke lights are great for being seen from the side. I use the head and tail lights in addition to my other lights, though in some conditions these may be fine on their own. They come packaged in demo mode, so you do have to read the instructions to find out how to switch them for use.

I purchased this pack on sale for my son's bike. I figure if they are lost or stolen there's no great loss. The concept is great, but we have the same problem as the other reviewer - they don't stay lit for more than 30 seconds. What's the point? I assume it is due to low battery life from sitting on the shelf for a long time. Not excited to replace four batteries in brand new products. Boo Cat Eye.

I didn't get it from REI, but I did get this product as a gift purchased at a local bike shop. If you ever get the itch to buy this, don't. They are very simple and the design is not bad, but the end product is just not good. I added these to my bike first and rode with them just one time and found that they just would not stay on. I am not sure if it was because of the bumps or what, but every time I looked down after traveling about 500 yards, all of them were off. So I stopped and turned them on and went another 500 yards and they were off again. So then I took the small ones off the bike and added them to my helmet and found the same thing. Turn them on and about a minute later, they are off. What good is a light if it won't stay on?
