The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Showers Pass Touring Bike Jacket - Women's:
I love this jacket. The combination of excellent ventilation, high visibility day and night, and waterproofing make it my go-to jacket for both workouts and commuting.
It is also very durable, and slides well; I've fallen at about 15mph wearing it, and it protected me really well without being damaged.
I wear it from the 70s (due to pit zips and wrist scoops, it is not too hot) down to the 20s. Because it does not have a skinny cut like the Elite jacket, it fits well over layers, and the vents make it extremely adaptable.
Pouring rain does not penetrate, while adjustable airflow keeps it from getting too humid in wet conditions.
Despite the wonderful, extremely breathable Event fabric in the Elite jacket, I prefer this jacket due to the high visibility cheerful color, better use of reflective material, the cut, and all the pockets. (The lower cost is nice too.)
I'm planning to get another one to use when this one finally wears out, and highly recommend this jacket for workouts, commuting, and touring.

Comments about Showers Pass Touring Bike Jacket - Women's:
Great visibility colour
Stylish. A bit of a tailored look, but takes extra layers underneath without being tight.
Sometimes the zipper is hard to latch up at the bottom and I worry that the zipper will strip.
Have had the jacket for almost 2 years and still looks like new!
Don't buy the optional hood. Its a poor fit and slides to and fro very easily. Attaches with velcro to collar of jacket, but then pulls away from forehead with neck movement.

Comments about Showers Pass Touring Bike Jacket - Women's:
I bought this because I live in Portland and cycle a lot and figured that who would know better about wet weather cycling gear than a Portland based company? My friends have mixed opinions about Showers Pass, but the reviews were good and I like the visibility and style.
I took it out on a 50 mile ride in November rain. By halfway my arms were soaked from above the elbow down. I think the seams were leaking - certainly the black fabric was soaking wet. I used it for daily commuting, (a short ride) and it was okay-ish. But doing a couple of longer rides, the same thing happened and I returned with really really wet arms. In the end I returned the jacket because it just wasn't up to Portland rain. Maybe it was one faulty jacket, and I'd be willing to try again, but I've heard that from other people that this has happened to them also.

Comments about Showers Pass Touring Bike Jacket - Women's:
I purchased this jacket for all of the cycling-specific features. The color is nice and bright for visibility, there are lots of reflective strips, the arms are cut full enough to lean forward and ride in the drops comfortably, and the jacket has lots of venting. I am inordinately pleased by the size and placement of the pockets, which are just like on a normal, non-athletic jacket.
The fabric is pretty stiff and drapes poorly, but I think that is the nature of the beast. It's not so stiff as to be uncomfortable or interfere with movement. The chin zips up a little too high for comfort when I'm walking, but when I'm leaning forward with my hands on the hoods, it is just high enough. This is fine on my touring bike, but for an upright riding position the collar could be a problem.
I have disproportionately long arms and the cuffs don't quite cover my wrists when I'm on the hoods or in the drops. I'm still not sure how much of an issue this is going to be. During very cold weather I tend to wear long mittens over my gloves anyway, and they should cover the gap easily.
I skipped buying the matching hood and, for the same price, got a helmet cover from a different company.
Until now, I didn't have a good waterproof jacket, and I could not ride on chilly, rainy days without risking hypothermia and/or packing a complete change of clothing. I don't have a car, so this meant I had to take the bus. Today it is 45 degrees F and raining, and I just ran an errand on my bike very comfortably. I'm extremely pleased to be able to expand my range of riding weather.

Comments about Showers Pass Touring Bike Jacket - Women's:
I bought this coat as part of my ongoing effort to try and extend my bike commute into the winter months. I am not very experienced with cold weather gear, but I had been held up by too many light rain storms and wanted something that could protect me against all kinds of weather. My commute is 8 miles each way, and I have been toasty warm with this coat down to 32 degress F so far. (Obviously I'm wearing a nice base layer, but the coat keeps out the wind and holds in my body heat.) I think I could have bought a size down, but Im happy that the arms are long enough and I don't have to worry about it riding up in the back. I think it's a great coat, and I couldn't live without now!
